WR Chris Fields (official thread)

I remember when I first saw film on Chris, I could not wait for the staff to offer him, keep in mind I am a walk on fifth string couch QB with little true football knowledge. His tape shows a kid with great speed, good wiggle and good vision in the open field. I am still very happy that CF is going to be donning the S&G and it is a great honor for him to be recognized and rewarded with an invite to that All-Star game.

(free)

*DOWN*
Chris Fields, 6-0/180, Wide Receiver, Harvey, Ohio
Ohio State Commitment

Fields is blessed with great speed. He needs to learn the finer points of being a wide receiver including route running, body position, blocking, etc... A great athlete that plays football right now. The hope is that he works himself into a football player that is a great athlete.

I keep seeing all this, but he has the speed that most guys don't possess, and a redshirt year and another year in the program he should be ready to use that speed as well as have the nuances of being a WR after a couple years of coaching...

+1 add to that he may get some pointers from a fellow WR recruit and his dad that may speed the process of going from raw potential to polished

On the eve of signing day, just wanted to send out a big'ol "CONGRATS" to Chris on what is going to happen tomorrow. It's been almost 40 years since a Painesville kid has been at TOSU, and there is a "buzz" in the community tonite.

Wear the colors proud, Chris. The Harvey/Riverside fence gets torn down on this one. Tomorrow you become something that will live with you the rest of your life, you will FOREVER be a Buckeye, and this little stink'in town is damn proud of you.

Peace, and best of luck young Buckeye brother.
