WR Jameson Williams (transfer to Alabama, Detroit Lions)

Not finding a way to utilize what this guy can do I guess? Having the ability to go 94 yards in a play vs a typically athletic defense is something that's pretty rare. Find a role for that...

Hard to say without knowing what our slot WRs role is.
You think the problem is that Ryan Day, Kevin Wilson, and Brian Hartline were unable to find a way to utilize him?
Lol.

Wouldn't we have to be hurting for this to be a fuck up by the staff? What's the complaint if we aren't hurting? Is he better than Olave? Is he better than Wilson?

You're saying the staff fucked up. That's allowed. But it needs to make sense. In this case it makes less than none. He was going to be....at best....our 3rd WR. I would argue 4th, because JSN ihas more in his toolbox besides speed....which is Jameson's one trick.

So the staff needed to somehow make him OK with being (questionably) the 3rd best WR here...as opposed to #2 at Alafreakingbama.

I just don't get the issue. How is it a fuck up to have a kid transfer out when we have the #1 and #2 from like every class going back a few years? Did they fuck up by recruiting well? What's the fuck up?
Yeah. I mean would I be happier he wasn't helping out Alabama sure if he was playing somewhere that wasn't a threat it would possibly be better for the team on the field. But as a recruiting tool. Our 3/4 can come here spend 2/3 years being coached up and star at Bama is a hell of a pitch

I mean, seriously.... OSU can't have literally everyone
I made that point during the games thread today about B Robinson at UT. Really would have liked to have gotten him but then we wouldn't have had Sermon's year and then who sits between him, Miyan Williams and Henderson? There's only one ball and having the deepest WR room along with a fantastic TE makes it tough for guys down the depth chart. Williams is making the most of his opportunity but there's no depth at WR now on Bama's roster with their departures. It timed right for him just wish he went to a worse team

Olave returning is what pushed Jameson out. Not that he was recruited over. He would’ve played more on Thursday than Fleming and Harrison did. He and JSN are completely different types of players. Jameson isn’t the route runner that Wilson & JSN are so he couldn’t transition to the slot like they did. He may be a better outside WR than JSN, but not in the slot. And he’s not a better outside than Olave or Wilson.

Just a tough spot to be in for him. As long as everyone stays healthy, it’s a win for all involved. Jameson gets to play as much as he wants and OSU gets to feature its 3 best WRs, and possibly develop guys for the future. My only gripe is that they haven’t put much effort into getting anybody but 2 & 5 the ball.

It’s unfortunate that tOSU lost another weapon, but it wasn’t surprising given the depth in the WR room. It certainly doesn’t mean that the coaches messed up. Being honest with a guy and letting him decide what’s best for himself it what we’d want to have happen if it was our own kid. And it’s probably also what’s best for the team in the long term.

But honestly, I wish that Jameson would have been able to thrive somewhere else, because of the possibility that tOSU will get hurt in a playoff game this year by him being at Bama. I wish him the best but hope it doesn’t bite the Buckeyes in the ass.
