WR Michael Jenkins (All B1G, National Champion)

He'll have a good year, but Vick will never make a receiver a Pro Bowler

I don't see how you can honestly say that. Jenkins has already became the number one target. He is going to be the big play reciever off the pa they run.

Vick is in his 4th year and people act like his accuracy isnt going to get any better. The long catch that Mike had last nite was laid in his arms perfectly. You could not of placed it any better. Another thing is Jenks has good hands and he is going to catch some of the poorly thrown balls.

I am not saying that Jenks will be a pro bowler, (I think he has one hell of a chance) but to say just b/c his qb is Vick he won't be a pro bowler, is just ignorning the fact that his accuracy is coming along very well.

That was one good throw. He had many horrendous overthrows...almost reminded me of a college quarterback. MJ might be his #1 target but if he cant put the ball in his hands, it's not going to help MJ at all getting to the Pro Bowl

First game jitters. I think Jenkins is going to have some pretty good numbers this year being the number. Pro Bowl numbers probably not but good.

I can "honestly" say that because there is no indication that Vick has the discipline necessary to be an effective passer over the course of a 16 game season. I have 3 years of history to base that on...you are basing your assumptions on the results of one game, apparently. I don't know how you can "honestly" say Jenkins is Vick's #1 target after one long pass and 3 catches, given Vick's history of running and throwing to Crumpler all the time. He might be...but they thought Peerless Price would be too. Heck, Madden said last night he thought Vick had the most confidence in Finneran...with Vick it's just hard to tell, especially after one game.

As I said previously, Vick played decent last night while the coaches were able to call enough running plays for the backs and he was able to play with a lead. We'll see what happens when Carolina's front 4 are chasing him all over the place every play and the Falcons get down by 10 or so. I also said I thought Vick could turn into a good QB if he gets the right advice like McNabb got...Donovan and his coaches molded him into a complete QB, still capable of running but also being accurate in the passing game and not forcing the ball as much as he used to downfield, and also to hit the outlet receivers instead of trying to run all the time. Culpepper has done the same...the jury is still out on him, though he detonated the NFL last year. If Vick gets such help, maybe he will too. If he doesn't, and the Falcons' people think the current Vick sells tickets and that's how they want him to stay...he won't. His accuracy as a passer won't get much better if he and his coaches don't make it a priority to work on it...we'll see.

I think Jenkins is a hell of a reciever...I am not sold that he is in a system that will best utilize his (or any receiver's) talents. Time will tell.

My assumptions are not being based on just one game. He started hitting him at the end of last season, and during preseason.

When you have a qb like Vick who likes to run and the offense is run first you usually use the pa pass a lot. So when you have a deep threat like Jenks he is going to be getting most of these throws, also in the redzone for the jump ball.

I think Jenks can become an elite reciever and he is only in his second year. He forced his way into playing time last year and forced them to give up on someone they thought was going to be their number one.

Also as for the number one target, I meant as a reciever. Crumpler is still his target he looks for over the middle and Jenks is the deep threat.

Also Vick's deep ball is very good.

Another thing when looking at the pro bowl, since the Falcons have been winning it seems they like to pick players that come more from winning teams than losing teams.

i dont question vick's ability to throw one bit. vick doesnt have a superb pass blocking O-line and he never had recievers before. now he has jenkins which will help along with crumpler. i think it will be a gradual turn to the passing game. it will take time but it will happen. anybody that watched vick in the last pro bowl game can see what he can do with recievers. i believe at one point before half he was 9/10 for a crapload of yards.

WR Michael Jenkins notched his first career touchdown pass when he hauled in a 15-yard Michael Vick laser to put the Falcons up 14-6 against the Bills.

I've been watching jenkins.
he'd improved quite a lot in running routes, timing, and getting off the 5 yards jam and has better strength holding on to the ball than his first year.
It's just GOOD to see him starting to be the major factor for falcon, go to guy for vick.
haha, wondering how hard Doss would hit him when they meet.

All the macon, ga paper has to say about the reciever situation for the falcons is that it would be nice to have a go-to-guy. F@#$ THE MACON JOURNAL/TIMES/CONSTITUTION/WHATEVER ITS CALLED.

ive always wondered what it would be like to play against somebody when the game is on the line that you played with previously and had a close bond with. that would be a real odd situation.

I love them both but I think we all know Mike Doss's strength was not in pass coverage. Now, Vick on the other hand, should be watching out for Doss if/when they ever play.
