WR Terrelle Pryor ('10 Rose, '11 Sugar MVP)

Like what? Missing the deadline? Because something came up that changed his eligibility status in the NCAA? Both outlined as reasons a player would be in the supplemental draft. There should have been many, many other suspensions in the past if TP's case is suspension-worthy. There are probably cases like this every year.

He said it, PR or not. People are going to expect him to live up to his words and if he doesn't, he's going to take a boatload of criticism.

One other thing.. if the league is worried about integrity, why the fuck would performance-enhancing drugs warrant a lesser-suspension than a kid who fucked up his eligibility by getting tattoos?

The excuse for the suspension was just that - an excuse.

The suspension was merely a legal dodge for Goodell to be able to "allow" Pryor into the supp draft only to then screw him through the 6-game sit. Had he refused to allow Pryor in, lawsuits would have ensued and mucked up the beginning of the season.

I don't see Tressel doing this.. infact, he suggested he sit. I get that he's feeling pressure from the union or ownership - but wasn't he just saying that "your mistakes catch up to you" and that he was going to man-up and take his punishment?

Kind of how he promised he would man up and come back to school this year? What, did he think it was going to be easy? Once everyone started picking on him in the media and on facebook he bolts for greener pastures?

I'm sorry, I like TP and wish him the best, but the further and further we get away from ground-zero.. the more disgusted I am with him and Tressel both.

One already has money from their job. The other only has the money he received from memorabilia.

If you're getting disgusted with Tressel, why do you still have a quote from him in your sig?

You do realize he left school because he was saving the program from further penalties, right?

Terrelle Pryor....not the hero we deserve, but the hero we need right now.

I still respect Jim Tressel. I still believe in my heart of hearts that he's a good dude with a good heart. Seeing the quote "I wish the NCAA would have sat them for the Sugar Bowl" really rubbed me the wrong way, and looking at the postion we're in - due to him not doing the right thing when he recieved the information - sorry, I love the guy - but the more & more we get away from everything, the more disappointed I get.

For the record, that sig went up on memorial day - very close to "ground zero" as opposed to the 'farther and farther' perspective - with that said, still respect JT and will be leaving the sig for now.

Perhaps. We'll never know..

I tend to blow off the stories about him receiving money, as every other story was false this offseason. I think Fickell not returning his calls is why he hired an agent, made himself ineligible, and skipped off to Oakland with a paycheck.

I wish the guy the best at the next level, but one of my personal points of pride over the last 10 years was "doing things the right way"

Naive? Obviously.

His status changed when HE hired an agent, thus the suspension and the NFL saying: "Pryor made decisions that undermined the integrity of the eligibility rules for the NFL draft."

Nothing changed regarding his eligibility status nor did he miss the deadline. He knew what his punishment was prior to the deadline, did not enter, and then hired an agent after and said he was declaring for the supplemental draft. That is circumventing the regular draft. Now obviously it was because of all the new allegations and harm he was doing to the program, but that is not listed as a reason for being eligible for the supp draft.

I can say with some certainty that TP does have a LOT that he's not sharing. I can also say that he was essentially asked not to return to the team. He hired an agent after not hearing back from the HC? You really believe that?

People need to just let this go. TP was a very gifted child when he got here. But that's what he was, a child. He made childish decisions. But what he also did was provide for some very exciting times for a lot of us. Those decisions eventually caught up to everyone and he paid for them, more than many of us will ever fully realize. He's gonna keep his mouth shut on the matter for a long time, I guarantee that. I understand why a lot of people don't like the guy but at this point, I don't think he owes any of us anything. He's moved on, so should we.

The issue is Terrelle hired an agent before being suspended for the year by the NCAA.

He would have been suspended for the year, but Terrelle made it official by hiring an agent first. That is why the NFL made an example of him...

If you don't make an example of him, all of a sudden players are hiring agents after the initial draft and making themselves ineligible for NCAA play.
