Here's a link to all of the documents.

Exhibit 4-1 has the titles flipped for the 2010 and 2011 football schedules.

EDIT - I've also added this link to post #1 so it can be easily found in the future.

I'm fine with the recommended punishment. If the NCAA wants to add more that's there right. There's no reason to over punish yourself. The NCAA is not going to say you're being to harsh on yourself, we'll reduce some of what you proposed.

The Tat5 were already punished and at that time the only person at OSU that knew about the emails was our head coach who is no longer a part of the program.

Actually, they did reduce a punishment once... for the Sugar Bowl. It turned into a shitstorm that they're not going to repeat.

The fact that the NCAA has the accused go through the charade of naming their own punishment only to change it if they disagree with you is silly enough. There's no reason to compound that silliness by overshooting the mark.

Vacating wins and probation?

That's it?

Pfffft. That's no punishment at all.

losing QB that was on pace to set every school record in yardage
losing one of the best college football coaches of all time
losing 3 starters (at key positions RB, WR, LT) and a key bench player for the first five games of the year.

+probation
+vacating wins
+possible recruiting losses in the most fertile class in ohio hs football history

ncaa most likely to tack on scholly losses and maybe a 1 or 2 year bowl ban to appease the public.

sounds pretty harsh for some discounted tatoos and not forwarding an email :)

1. One of the best coaches in college football was asked to leave.
2. Multiple players are facing some of the most severe penalties ever for selling their own items.
3. The star QB is gone
4. Neither LOIC or FTM are being accused.
5. Most of this was self reported.

I'd say we paid a pretty big price already, so I don't see why we would give up a bowl game.

If the NCAA adds to this then so be it, but if this is the standard for coaches and schools not owning up to guys selling their own stuff then I can't wait to see what schools like Auburn will get if it can be proven that hundreds of thousands of dollars are being offered to buy recruits. I doubt the NCAA wants to make this much worse.

One year bowl ban would be odd without LOIC but at least it wouldn't hurt recruiting.

I see the NCAA accepting this and not wanting to dig anymore in to minor issues such as autographs and green fees.

amazes me no matter what OSU does they are getting [Mark May] stormed, does ESPN honestly believe OSU should self impose a bowl ban if they think they can get away with it?

Well, everything now is looked at in light of the recent past. If you could just erase that horrible March presser entirely, this would be far more palatable to the skeptical general public and attacking press. It was like painting a bulls eye on the program when Gee and Co. publicly knob jobbed Tressel at a conference supposedly put on to discuss the revelation of serious, major violations committee by him.

It sucks, but you just can't walk back that perception.

I have been thinking for some time that the penalties will not be USC like and if we can buy that the "response" is close to the actual penalties then there should be a smoke clearing of the future of Ohio State football.
It should have , along with the hiring of Vrable a noticeably positive reaction in recruiting. :oh:
