Nope. Leinert would have been the 1st overall pick and was probably more ready for the NFL. Plus he had won 2 titles. As of now Vince hasn't won any. Then of course there is the fact that no one has left Texas early as of yet under Mack.
If Mack Brown were to leave to coach the San Antonio Saints I would give Gene Chizik the head coaching job at UT in the next hour. That guy is going to be a very solid college coach.
Texas was in the top 5 when they lost in Lubbock in 02. The only loss up until that point was to OU. We had crawled back into the top 5 at #4 I believe.

I bet they move it to Atlanta or somewhere like that. The SEC will still want it to be in their neck of the woods. I am not sure Baton Rouge would have the hotel space for an event like the Sugar Bowl. Tiger Stadium is obviously big enough but most of those people you have to figure live fairly...
Yeah they play at OU, at Tech(where they have not won since 93), at Colorado, at K-State(who knows how they will be), and then Texas at home. Not to mention opening the season at Clemson. They may be better but the schedule doesn't really set up well for them to have a breakthrough season.
