'05 CA QB Jason Forcier (Michigan signee, transfer to Stanford)

I am kinda torn on this one- I think Forcier could be diamond in rough-sucks if he heads North
I couldn't agree more.

The kid has a great attitude about recruiting:

"I grew up a Michigan fan, but once recruiting comes around, you have to be prepared to change. You’ve got to be prepared to go to the place where you fit the most.... It’s disappointing [playing second fiddle to Schoenhoft and Sanchez] if you want to say that, but I’m not going to frown on it," he said. "I’m using it as more of a motivational tool, and I’m working out as hard as I can. I’m more of an unknown, I’m more underrated, and I think that I’m going to be the dark horse favorite. Whoever gets me, I’m going to work hard and do my best to win the starting job as soon as I can, and lead that team to success."

Not a bad pick up for scUM, but he certainly will have to wait behind Henne for a at least two years, and possibly a third behind Clayton Richard if Henne leaves after his junior year and Clayton Richard keeps playing football (considering he went undrafted in last year's baseball draft, although his father chalks that up to "the baseball scouts just saw the great future Clayton has in football.").

San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine quarterback Jason Forcier has committed to Michigan. The three-star signal caller, a one-time Arizona State commitment, thoroughly enjoyed his visit to U-M Dec. 3 and finally pulled the trigger, according to sources close to the situation.

Forcier, considered a dual-threat quarterback, is considered one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the West Coast region according to Rivals.com analyst Rick Kimbrel. Many compare his playing style to that of former UCLA quarterback Cade McNown.

Watch for more on Forcier in the hours to come ...

Do you get the feeling that me end up regretting this down the road? I like this kid's speed, and he just seems like a winner. Do you think the reason Tressel offered Smith years ago was basically because Smith was too good of an Ohio athlete to turn down, and Tressel also knew what players Glenville had coming down the pipe? I don't think that Smith's style is the type of QB Tressel likes to recruit, just call it a hunch. Look at the other QB's that we have snagged, they are more of a pro, dropback passing type. I'm not going to say that I necessarily agree, it just makes me wonder.
