    Carlos Thomas
    Ht: 6-1 Wt: 180 40: 4.4
    Position: WR, CB
    Projected as: WR, CB
    Position Rank: NR
    Class: 2005 Senior
    High School: Banneker HS
    (College Park, GA)

Thomas was one of the top performers at the Atlanta Nike Camp and was considered the best receiver there running a 4.41 and a 4.38 40. He is considered by many the best receiver in the Atlanta metro area. The Buckeyes are recruiting Thomas to play both ways and he's aware of the fact Gamble did both in Columbus. Per the latest Rivals update his favorites include Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Clemson and Oklahoma, in that order. All 5 of his favorites have offered.

    Junior Stats:

    Offense - 24 catches, 600 yards, 7 touchdowns.
    Defense - 36 tackles, 2 interceptions.

He's not in my neck of the woods so I probably won't be able to check him out. But he'll be a tough one to get especially if he's one of the top players in the state. Richt has been doing a Tressel like effort of trying to keeping the top players in the state and doing a good job.

He sounds like somebody who may be a first round baseball prospect with those stats. Not sure who Banneker plays against, but it's probably a 5-AAAAA school (D-1 in Ohio), most of the Atlanta schools are and they are usually very competitive.

he now has 15-17 offers and is opening up his recruiting to everyone (he is not naming any leaders)- he is camping at Florida, Clemson, Georgia and Auburn or Tenn.

It still sounds like it will be pretty tough to take him out of the South

Thomas is being recruited by Mel Tucker and the two have have hit it off. Thomas is still not listing any favorites but he mentions Ohio State is definitely in the mix. Rivals has him listed as the #13 WR prospect in the country.

Although the last few updates have not been promising- sounds like he might be headed to one of the Georgia schools.

Thomas is still committed to Georgia Tech but he is going to take 5 visits. One of the schools he mentioned he's still considering is Ohio State.

Thomas is taking an official to tOSU on 11/20 for the scUM game. He plans on also visiting Georgia, LSU, Florida and Maryland. He says he is still committed to G Tech but wants to make sure he made the right decision. Keep in mind he brother goes to G Tech.

Nothing really new in this update. He will visit for scUM weekend. Georgia Tech has told him he will play early for them and it looks like he'll be a receiver initially for them. Ohio State wants him at corner and Mel Tucker is recruiting him. Thomas says the Buckeyes are "a good team" and he "wouldn't mind playing for them."

He says he is still committed to GTech and would classify himself as "pretty solid".

He will visit tOSU for the scUM game and will also visit LSU, Clemson and GTech. He may visit either Georgia, Arkansas or scUM for a fifth visit.

He is still committed to G Tech but wants to take some visits to confirm his pick. He will be at tOSU this weekend and says they are a winning program and he likes the speed they have on defense.

    StoRMinBrutus Great 2 B A Buckeyes !!!

I sure hope this game with Ohio State vs. M!ch!g*n gave Carlos something to think about while he was at the game. This game had to make him think of all the National exposure he'll get if he signed with Ohio State. There are few places like The Shoe with all these faithful fans and tradition. I'd bet he was amazed how loud it was there today at the game .. hell I was and I've been to many games myself. He's also got to be thinking about all the potential he'd be a part of, while at Ohio State, and of going all the way most every year; as opposed to other schools he may have considered signing with ....

You would think his experience here has to be much more exciting than GT. We do have a DB slot open for next year.
