Most of the guru's think he is too small to play RB and are predicting him for CB in college
Here is an article about him before his junior year

Brinson is going to Cryami's junior day and lists both tOSU and Cryami as his early favorites

this guy has too sweet of moves not to get a look on offense somewhere, i will repost a bunch of his film the next week or so. one of the moves is absolutely barry sandersish. he pulled that off as a soph against warren harding of all people too.

anyways for now just another pic of brinson. i don't think i have used this one on the site at all either.

this was taken when he was a soph, he will be a senior this year.

At 5'9", Brinson is probably too small for CB as well....

However, his RB films look pretty good - he has good football speed and decent moves. He is really strong for his size (167 lbs, but does 21 reps on the bench press), and it shows on film. He's another kid (like Tim Conner) who is a good football player, but probably doesn't have the size to be a Big Ten type player.

Two words to remember when talking about "undersized" running backs: Darren Sproles.

Good point - I could also add Joe Morris, James Brooks, Eric Metcalf, and Lionel "Little Train" James (who was only 5'5-3/4"). The question remains: will the Bucks or any other big-time program offer Brinson, or will his size scare teams away?

  7. Where was Sproles vs the Silver bullets-on his ass. He might have torn up Oklahoma, but what the hell kinda team is named after a musical?

Thanks for the update, Buckskin - I'm glad that he's camping at OSU, as I am rooting for him to get an offer. He's a "football player", albeit an undersized one, and a kid with his skills, attitude, and toughness on the field deserves a chance.

Jeff do you believe that Brinson is projected at Corner? If so wouldn't we go after Harrison who is the same height and tons faster?

Naples - some have Brinson as an RB, some as a CB; his RB films impressed me quite a bit, as he is a powerful runner with good speed, but he is very small for the position. With more and more big receivers these days, his height works against him at CB as well. It's hard to say which position he'll end up playing in college, but I would bet that he gets a look on both sides of the ball. He'll make some noise somewhere - he's got the right attitude for success.

Harrison and the Buckeye coaching staff seem to be having a "disconnect" at the present time (see the BP thread on Harrison for details). I wouldn't count on Harrison receiving an offer any time soon. Kendall Davis allegedly has grade issues, and I doubt that he would get an offer until he can prove that his academics are in order. That pretty much leaves Hampton from Cleveland Heights and Brinson as the in-state CB candidates for the moment. However, the Bucks are probably not in any hurry to offer another in-state kid, with Rivals #2 CB Jamario O'Neal already being a commitment, and #1 CB Justin King having the Bucks solid in his top five.

ANother update that flew under my radar....

Bill Kurelic on Ryan Brinson (6/25/04)

Claims that MSU is his leader; no offers yet.

Like Glenville's Tim Conner, Brinson is another undersized but versatile athlete with a great attitude and energy level on the field. Ryan will get some decent offers and be successful somewhere.

Brinson just received a big offer from Iowa. He has no leader and will take his time with his decision. He just ran a 4.42 40.

i was trying to hint that without saying it as the premium police with the Iowa insiders dont like sharing premium content. But now that you have stated it Iowa has offered. We will see how that turns out, He doesnt look to get a Buckeye offer from what I gather at this point correct me if Im wrong.
