'06 CA WR David Ausberry (USC signee)

if vidal hazelton announces for psu today than forget it. regardless of the fact he's going to prep school anyway, his committing to usc would be the only bit of leverage that osu would have.

i personally dont see it this way. either school he goes to is going to have tremendous depth at the WR position. if harvin had committed it might have had a little more sway but either way, i think it will coem down to if he wants to stay home or come back to see his family.

Vidal Hazelton committed to USC. You would think that this helps us with Ausberry, but I see us still losing him to USC.

I agree, but doesn't it seem rather odd that players, specifically wide receivers, are willing to go to USC despite the depth chart. I know we always say that players shouldn't be afraid of competition, but you need to see the field to show scouts in the NFL what you are made of.

With the depth and talent USC has at Wide Out, someone is always going to get left behind. Next year - Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith, Patrick Turner, Vidal Hazelton, David Ausberry, Whitney Lewis. All extremely high rated recruits, but there's only one ball.

With the formations they employ, if you're the 4th or 5th WR, you'll see the field often. Next season will likely be Jarrett's last (he'll be a junior), along with it definitely being Smith's last (he'll be a senior). Thus, he would be no worse than the #4 WR in 2007.

Ausberry keeps in contact with Hazelton and Mays the safety that are committed to USC I would think this means that David will be a Trojan. But we get Thompson next yr.

Thompson would make up nicely. Still I don't think we ever lost him. He was USC's to lose and they didn't come close to losing him. I would love to be proven wrong on the 7th, but I don't think I will.
