On May 4th Scout.com was in Randolph, N.J. for the Elite College Combine. The combine featured a number of the top college prospects in the Northeast. During the weigh-in's we had a chance to speak with a few of the standout prospects. Including Camden (N.J.) Woodrow Wilson defensive back Antwine Perez.

Perez has 42 offers and wants to graduate early. He does not have a top five but he hopes to have one by 1 June. He is interested in USC, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma right now.

Perez will trim his list from 43 schools to 8 finalists next week. Michigan will most likely make the cut and he wants to visit Ann Arbor for the OSU game in the fall.

Perez may be the #1 player in New Jersey, he is not sure what camps he will attend but USC is a possiblity along with Ohio State and Florida.

The Next Ronnie Lott?
By Jeff Baumhower
Date: May 12, 2005

Forty scholarship offers and counting at the beginning of May. The number is staggering, but that is the current total for Woodrow Wilson high school (Camden, N.J.) safety prospect Antwine Perez. Are the Irish among the schools that have offered?

Antwine talks about Notre Dame's history and they have visited him recently. USC was in to visit this past week and he also talks about South Carolina and Nebraska.

Antwine has pared his list to a final 8: Southern Cal, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida, Oklahoma and Ohio State. tOSU was the first of those schools to offer and Antwine loves the DB tradition at tOSU and players such as Mike Doss. Coach Jim Tressel has already been to Antwine's school.

Stick with this guy!! With Hazell working on him, and the tradition of DB's we have, along with the fact we are in his final 8, let's just see where the chips fall. If he's that good, he's worth waiting for....just imagine what a NC run could do for our chances....all aboard AP!!!

Rivals.com has posted a video interview of Perez. He recently narrowed his list to Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC, and Tennessee.
Rivals has also put up a couple of videos on Perez, most of them at the QB position. But the first video of him playing Safety - dang, can that dude can lay a lick. He brings the wood, and absolutely knocks people out! Reminded me of Jamario O'neal. WOW!
