'07 OH CB/RB Brian Gamble (Illinois signee)

If Gamble comes in as a safety then what corner do we get to go with Evege?

I had Gamble and Evege penciled in at cb and Oliver and Clifford (if we get him) at safety. If Gamble comes in as a safety then I would think that Clifford gets first look at wr.

Maybe Torrence ends up as our other corner. Oh well. I guess we will have to wait and see.

For all these guys Gamble, Clifford, Oliver, Evege, Torrence, Peake. They are just guys you bring in and find positions later.

Agreed besides maybe not Peake yet. Gamble is just an obvious talent and he will make his way on the field whether it is safety of corner. Just because they may be recruiting him to play safety doesn't mean he will stay there.

Says he doesn't have a favorite and is hearing Tennessee, North Carolina, Illinois, Miami of Florida, Michigan and Ohio State. Will be @ the Nike camp on May 5th and will probably attend the Ohio state camp.

Also as kind of a suprise he is ranked as the number 8 player by Ohio high.

True, but you can't argue with Massillon's success last season. They had back-to-back 4-6 seasons in 03 & 04, and bounced back to go 13-2 in 05, not to mention that they defeated Cleveland St. Ignatius for the first time ever. Gamble didn't do it all by himself, but he is definitely a game breaker. That's the kind of respect that you'll get when you play for a storied program like Massillon.

I would have to agree with a number 8 ranking, if not higher. He made some huge plays in huge games. He also is just a great athlete on both sides of the ball and when his grades are set(which should be soon) I think OSU definetly comes through with an offer.

I love his game, and I really like what he brings to the table, but IMO there are better players out there.

Martin, Clifford, Torrence, Saine, Evege, Oliver, Williams, Herron, Belton, Mabin, Peake, Smith, Thomas, Hines, Elliott.

These are 15 guys that I would probably have ranked ahead of him, maybe he could move into the top 12 which isnt that much of a stretch, and it is basically splitting hairs, b/c they are all good.

But the thing that might hurt Gamble is that he is a db/s and right now Clifford, Torrence, Evege, Oliver, Mabin, Peake are all of ahead of him IMO.

Gamble was one of the most impressive players I saw play last year, hands down. The kid makes plays on both sides of the ball. I'd love to see an offer go his way.

I have to agree. He comes up big in big games and is exactly what JT looks for imo. I don't know if he has a good shot at an offer as of now but I personally like him better than Mabin. He is much more physical than Mabin though Mabin is a bit better in coverage. Gamble just makes more plays.
