'07 OH RB Morgan Williams (Toledo walk-on)

Yeah but he has them on top without an offer, that is the suprising thing.

My bad, I forgot that he doesnt have an offer from Illinois, I got them mixed up with Indiana...

I wonder what Zook is selling him on then?

I agree with you, I heard from many that they think that Williams is the best pure running back in the state. I wish we would show more interest, but if he has a good Nike camp im sure we will.

Let's not forget that Morgan's good friend and teammate Joe Morgan just committed to Illinois... I'm sure that plays a factor.
I also wonder about this article a little. This is so different than what Williams has said consistently in the past. Maybe he has found out from tOSU that they aren't interested (grades?)... Or maybe it's just the questions that the ND reporter asked... Who knows...

I'm personally not sold on Mr. Williams myself. The Federal League just wasn't all that tough this past sreason. Morgan stuffed plenty of stat sheets, but we all know that there is more to a player than his stats. Morgan lived by the long touchdown run and he did that often last season. The three backs that I watched in the last few years that I thought to myself "OSU needs to get that kid" were Chris Wells (first saw him as a soph), Javon Ringer (only saw him as a junior) and Darius Ashley. However, I also wasn't sold on Antonio Pittman either and he turned out to be just fine.

I agree that the Federal League wasn't very tough last season, but Williams did put 200+ yards and 4 TDs on Massillon. I don't think that too many teams put 200+ yards on Massillon, let alone 4 TDs. Regardless of how you put it, he's definitely one of the elite backs in this class.

Morgan is hearing from LSU, Florida, Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Iowa, Clemson, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Kansas. Although he named tOSU as an early favorite, he says he is wide open to all schools.

Man I hope he gets it together. As a fan it is so hard for me to see kids throw away so much because they are struggling academically. I know there are several factors that can be linked to a persons academic standing, but it is still a shame. Great news he is getting things in order!!!
