Ht: 6-1 Wt: 205
Year: 2008
High School: St. Bonaventure HS

Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and LSU are just a few that have offered. He is Scout's "Top Player In The West" and is hoping for an Ohio State offer.

Given our promise to Mr. Torrence I dont know if anything will come to fruition. Still nice to see another stud wanting to have that contact with Ohio State.

This kid is, IMHO, the best back in the country for 08, if we do offer, which i feel is unlikely, and he accepts (which is even more unlikely) you don't turn him down, but that's just my 2 cents.

So are you saying we offer him even though we have Torrence and other RB's interested in us?

Scott is the type of player you just make room for...he is the top RB in the country hands down imo. Even though we have DeVoe and I think he can be a great RB, he can also be a great LB...translation is that we need to offer Scott.

At the risk of integrity? IF Devoe was given a promise that he would be the only RB recruited, you stick to that promise at the sake of future recruiting.

RBs are a crapshoot and guys like Scott come around every year...every year there is a "can't miss/best in the nation" guy who misses while dozens and dozens of under the radar prospects make the waves.

Stick with the promise all day, every day.

Well, chris wells thinks Devoe could be better then himself.
So this kid must be a stud to . Osu don't have the numbers , so they should just be happy with another top ohio rb.

Pittman, Wells,Saine and Devoe. Will be the best group of RB'S from ohio to OSU for along time.

Amen to that, I mean isn't that the point of recruting. To attract the best available talent to serivce your institution. Hell, we can have a tandem like Reggie Bush and Lindale White(USC), Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams(Auburn), Cecil "The Diesel"Collins/Rondale Mealy/Kevin Faulk (LSU)or Leon and Curtis Johnson (UNC). Heck, this is what these big-time offensive coordinators get paid for

Absolutely true...but not at the expense of the integrity of the program. Posters are constantly badmouthing guys like Pete Carroll, Lloyd Carr, and Charlie Weis for their rumored tactics...

Why should tOSU promote the same behavior? If they told Devoe he would be the only RB recruited this year, that needs to be the case. However, there is no way to know if that was truly said...

Not only do we not offer for the sake of integrity, but even if we did...think about the likelihood of us pulling him out of Cali anyways. With the odds of him actually coming here as well as breaking a possible bond with Torrence...the concept of offering begins to look less and less intelligent.

Not worth it. Glad to see he wants to hear from us, but what big-time recruit doesn't want to hear from the likes of tOSU, ND, USC, etc.

I am with Grad on this one...

What if it pisses Torrence off he goes elsewhere and then we don't get Scott...

I have no problem telling the kid that we would like to recruit him for the defensive side of the ball or WR and see what he thinks...

Well if the staff honestly did say that to him(and your right, we won't be able to verify that), then I guess we shouldn't offer. Now if there was some way we could offer Scott as an athlete, say a LB or SS, and then see where he settles in at, then I'm all for it. It would be dishonest to bring DeVoe in on those terms and then try to bring in another RB. Scott is a phenominal player and athlete though, so I think it wouldn't be a stretch to see him wind up at numerous positions.

IMHO, there's no point in offering a kid whom you have a 0% chance of signing. Again, IMHO, Scott falls into that 0% category.

I am hoping the Buckeyes can offer a couple of BIG RB's, to fill the Stan White, Jr., void. We have Dionte next year, one or two others and a converted LB on the chart at this point.

I know Beanie is pretty big, but I'm talking like a 6'2 270 pound Jamar Martin type of guy.

Wouldn't Robt. Rose make a nice blocking back?

anyway, normally the more the merrier when it comes to superior athletes, but maybe we should work on other positions before we talk about adding an RB. Like 09 quarterbacks, and big, mean linemen.

Scott is arguably the best back in the nation...I highly doubt he is going to want to come to OSU and fill a "blocking back" role.

The two guys who I have seen that would make great fullbacks are Zordich, who we have offered, and Brewster's teammate Jeremiah Schwartz.
