'08 OH ATH Johnny Adams (Michigan State signee)

Remember how it took Teddy quite a while to get the WR thing down, yet although he was just so-so as a WR as a true freshman he was phenomenal as a returner. Not redshirting Teddy didn't seem to hurt him or the team...

Yeah this works when you are talking about a world class athlete, just get him the ball and let him see what he can do with it...

Adams is not that, and he is a CB, and will need polishing...

I see a competition between Woods, Pead, and Adams for either 1 or 2 CB spots in this class depending on how many the staff wants to take...

Two things wrong with your statements:

1. Ginn is NOT a world-class athlete (or wasn't in high school), lest he be in the Olympics.

2. Ginn was also a CB--not a WR--in high school.

Adams looks good on film, he doesn't look Ginn-good.

Now are you comparing CB Adams to the CB Ginn in highschool or the WR Adams to the WR Ginn in college. You really can't compare the two because they are on two different levels WR wise. Adams Adam's isn't going to look Ginn-good because he isn't where Ginn is now (on the way to the NFL). When Adams is a Junior in College, then we compare him to Ginn.
Now if you are talking about the CB to CB comparison, then thats a little more realistic because they both played that in HS.

Yes I'm comparing soph. h.s. film with Ginn's Jr. year at OSU. :shake: I was comparing the h.s. CB footage......

The point of all this is that it's premature for folks to be saying Adams "would likely redshirt"...a prospect of his natural talent has a good chance of seeing the field as a true freshman at one capacity or another.

Ginn could be a world class athlete but opted not to be....Ginn is a phenom....I haven't seen any video of Adams so I can't compare, but chances are he's far from the athlete Teddy was

For anybody who's ever seen Ginn's highschool highlight reel, they'd realize him and Adams arent even on the same level. Although like someone said, it was sophomore vs. senior and junior highlights.

Nine punt return TDs in one season...I don't know how many times I have to keep bringing that up. That and the fact he ran a 4.5 as a sophomore and currently has a 4.37 40. He may not be at the Ginn level, but really, how many are?

Oh I agree, I'm not in any way putting Adams down. I'm just comparing highlight reels. Ginn's highschool highlights were in the "rediculous" category along with guys like Aj Greene, Noel Devine, Chris Wells.. etc. Adams is very good, but I wouldn't say it was on the level of Ginn. But like you said, I don't think anybody was.

For anybody who hasn't seen his highschool highlights.. check them here...

Scouting Ohio just added new highlight reels of Adams including his Junior year campaign.

All I gotta say is.... he looks VERY ginnesque in the highlight reel. Very impressive, and there is no way you put a guy this explosive at defensive back. He actually looked fairly polished as a receiver too. (although theres not much to base this off)

I think it's pretty obvious why staff's interest has picked up recently. I'm guessing his new film just got out recently seeing how this was just updated on scouting ohio on may 1st.
