'08 OH LB Steve Gardiner (Michigan State Signee)

I think he more in the BIG SPEED category because he will likely play at over 200 lbs. If he were to get an offer I would have to assume they are looking at him much like they did Moeller...probably get his first look in the defensive backfield or they will put some weight on him and make him a WLB.

Rivals $

10/3

From the Northwestern site...things are pretty much status quo...still favoring Northwestern, Pittsburgh and West Virginia and still waiting to see what OSU and MSU are going to do. Oklahoma State recently offered.

Under the Radar Player

Steve Gardiner, Linebacker
Coffman (Dublin, Ohio)
Considering: Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Northwestern, Ohio State, Michigan State

Dublin-Coffman High School has proven it can produce some excellent football talent, as the home of 2007 first-round draft pick QB Brady Quinn and also where ESPN 150 prospects offensive lineman Mike Adams and tight end Jake Stoneburner play.

Beyond the spotlight is Gardiner, another fine prospect. On Recruiting Insider on ESPNU, we cover different under the radar players for each position, and when we covered linebackers, Gardiner was an obvious choice.

I've been really busy with football and now that our playoffs have started we're going to be playing on Saturdays, so it's hard to schedule official trips." From the offering schools, West Virginia and Pittsburgh lead solidly over Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati.

He looks like a caveman one of those pictures, which is pretty disturbing.

I've seen his video and, while he is a generally good football player, he is simply not tOSU material. I'd take Pead, at safety, over him.

(For two reasons) I couldn't disagree with that statement more...
