'08 OH TE/DE Kevin Koger (Michigan signee)

I spoke w/ a fraternity brother of mine from who coaches in T-town about Koger and this is what he had to say:

"He has really come on this year. Whitmer had a new coach this year and they really did some good things with Kevin. He is big and probably hasn't even reached his full potential. When they would highlight the friday games there was almost always a great play that he made. He is most likely a tight end. If he was at a city school he probably would be comparable to Fred Davis that went to USC from Rogers. But he doesn't split out as a receiver that much like Davis. Whitmer tries to keep him on the line of scrimmage because he can block too."

BG $

4/4

By BK...more of the same...OSU and UM are his top two.

I was told he grew up a UM fan because his dad is from Detroit, but the OSU offer could change things...

Is there even room for this kid right now?? Williams kinda eliminates the need the for "freakish" DE type prospect... And is TE really a concern in a schollie tight year like 08??

My opinion is let him to north...I like Williams better a lot better at DE and at TE Stoneburner may have a future and I like other prospects better at TE as is...liek Brandon Moore, though that isn't likely to happen.

they still want him, but offering Williams was a real surprise, I thought for sure he was a late August type offer

(1) If the Bucks really do offer Texas WR Jeffrey Fuller (6' 4", 200 lbs), then that might indicate that Stoneburner will be used more as a flex TE than a traditional WR. OSU already has some big bodies at TE (Ballard, Miller), and could use a true receiving threat at that position.

(2) As for other TE prospects, don't forget about Ryan Wallace from Kentucky.

I don't see us winning this one...just my humble opinion.

Interesting comment and I certainly suspect your wisdom on this is correct, but it's always a bit surprising when those of US on a TOSU website (with our scarlet-n-gray glasses) think that a young man from OHIO is going to be hard to pull from TSUN.
