RT: @Josh_Ward Hyams reports BryceBrown skipped meeting today w/DerekDooley. Instead, Brown sent Dooley a text saying he won't return to UT.

Brown's father was "ballistic" that Bryce wasn't man enough to tell Dooley to his face that he's leaving. Brown left town.
NCAA might as well declare him eligible now. It's obvious he has Maverick Carter working for him as an agent.

I think you mean ineligible.

However, I hear rumors that an announcement is in the works. ESPNU will carry the 15-minute special, proceeds to be donated to the Cub Scouts.

Tennessee will not release Bryce Brown from scholarship - Campus Rivalry: College Football & Basketball News, Recruiting, Game Picks, and More - USATODAY.com

After Bryce Brown texted Tennessee coach Derek Dooley earlier this week to tell him Brown wouldn't be returning to the school, Dooley may have gotten the last laugh.

The coach confirmed late Friday that he will not be releasing Brown from his scholarship with the Volunteers, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel. Bryce Brown won't be attending Tennessee this season, but Vols coach Derek Dooley won't release the running back from his scholarship.

What the move means is that Brown, who is reportedly going to enroll at Kansas State, will have to pay his own way at the school next season as he sits out due to NCAA transfer rules.

Dooley is being kind of a dick here. Its an 18 year old kid that pledged to play for the former coach who is gone. Release him and let him go to the cow town that is Manhattan.
If you don't have the decency to meet with the head coach, you are owed nothing from him. I think this is an excellent message being sent about respect and authority figures.

He pledged to UT, not Kiffin. While I can see both sides of the story he did leave without saying a word. I don't care how old you are, you should know better then that and handle your affairs. Hopefully this will teach the young man about living up to your commitments and he will hopefully learn from it.

Seems like Papa Brown agrees with this sentiment...well, at least before it potentially hits his pocket book.

Normally I might agree - but from all indications Brown is the dick wherever he goes.

Next time you get a new job just quit showing up at your old one and then try getting a reference.

Its going to teach him anything but and this will probably show what an azz Dooley is. Tennessee is just mad that they won't get the refund on that big bag of money that was given to his handler.

Exactly. KSU is the perfect place for these prima donnas. He can play for Snyder who could be the biggest douche in the NCAA...perfect place for him.
