'09 NC PG John Wall (Kentucky Verbal)

With Offutt's re-injury I REALLY hope we stick on Wall hard. I have always like his game, but now I am under the impression that he could be a VERY important recruit. The staff's assessment that he could be our Conley may be able to do it for us, hopefully.

I would think that the staff might redshirt Offult in 2008 to build both of his knees back up so they are at the same strength. I would like for us to go after "swing" guard and a banger in 2009 but that discussion is for another thread.

I was thinking the same thing about the red-shirt, but I also don't think you can completely count on a guy who when healthy is really good, but has blown out each knee in the past couple years. Offutt can play the 2 as well, and with Crater/Wall at point, Offut can fill in if needed there too. Also, on the wings, we should have Lighty, Diebler, Turner, Wallace and hopefully Buford in '09, depending on how long he stays and the PT he gets, plus Pryor may be able to help out. IMO, in '09, we need a PG and a couple big men (I'll take Renardo Sidney and Daniel Orton and call it a day :))

North Carolin guard John Wall, the No. 1 prospects in the class by Rivals.com, also had a sensational second half and finished with 30 points. Wall also had 11 assists (that's a lot for AAU). Folks, this kid is really good. He gave me a list of schools that included: Memphis, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Kansas, Kentucky, Baylor and N.C. State but said he was "really wide open." The whispers have picked up around the gyms on Wall and the word out now is Oklahoma State or Baylor. We shall see soon.
