brother of david teague (im assuming) purdue via bridgeton academy prep. brother is 6-5 200lbs guard who holds frosh record for 3's. teague was all b10 in his 5th year 06-07 after a med redshirt in 05-06
actually, he's a brother of the Teague at Wake Forrest this year (Jeff), also out of Pike High School.

David Teague from Purdue, who also attended Pike is not related...yeah go figure.

Marquis is very skilled at his young age, especially considering he is not all physically gifted, yet. He looks very fragile to say the least, but he has the quickness early in his career to compete at a very good program (Pike) and against some good to great competition. Definitely one to keep an eye on as he develops, but he'll be a good PG.

also, no 'e' in the end, it's just Marquis. :)

edit- Picture of Marquis being guarded by Evan Gordon (brother of Eric), like I said he's very small, can't weigh more than 165, but he has quick game and will surely get better and more physical

From the Kentucky site...OSU has offered...joining Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Wake Forest and Xavier. Also talking to Illinois and Kentucky. Talks about his interest in Kentucky and about his limited contact with the staff.

Teague is a stud...Would be a great get...He and Behannon would make a great class...Probably need another big guy to go along with them...Not saying we are the leader for these guys, they are just the only ones we have offered so far...

RECRUITING INSIDER

Coaches are starting to notice Pike's Teague

By Jody Demling ? [email protected] ? July 13, 2008

Marquis Teague has the name and the game to back up the attention he received from college basketball coaches last week at the Kentucky HoopFest.
The 6-foot-1 Pike sophomore-to-be has been billed as the next star from Indianapolis, which has recently produced Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Eric Gordon and other top players.
Teague, who played for the Spiece Indy Heat 15 team at HoopFest, is the brother of Wake Forest star Jeff Teague, and the youngster is special.
"That's just how we play in my state," Teague said with a smile after a game in which he had 20 points and several eye-catching plays in front of Ohio State coach Thad Matta, Purdue coach Matt Painter, Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin and assistants from Indiana, Louisville, Duke, Xavier and others.

"It's all happened fast," said Teague, who said Cincinnati, Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue and Wake Forest have offered scholarships. U of L, Illinois, Texas, Kentucky and others have also shown interest.
"I don't have a number one," he said.
