'12 MI WR Aaron Burbridge (Michigan State Signee)

Farmington Hills Harrison's QB last year, Tommie Vento, is a preferred walkon to Michigan State. His younger brother Jake will be the QB in 2012. Harrison also has 2 other high end prospects this year in Mario Ojemudia and Devin Funchess. Neither look like they will be getting an offer from Ohio State though as while Ojemudia is very good he is a LB/DE prospect and Funchess is a TE. To me the Harrison MSU pipeline is a little overstated, for instance OSU got Ricky Bryant from Harrison in the late 90's. However, the reason MSU doesn't take a recruit from there every year is that they don't have Big Ten caliber recruits come out of there every year, its far less often than that.

Burbridge is the most heavily recruited of the bunch, with offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Illinois. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder boasts 4.37-second 40 speed and is a threat to take the ball the distance every time he touches it.

"(Burbridge) has tremendous explosion and acceleration," stated Herrington. "He is one of those kids that has two gears. He can go out for a pass and it looks like it is overthrown, then suddenly he explodes on the ball. He is a very tough kid, a good blocker, and has great hands. He still has a ways to go in learning all his routes, but he can catch the ball just off his shoe tops, or he can go up and get it if it is way over his head like he did in the state finals. I would say the thing that sets him apart is his speed and his explosion."
"MSU is in the driver's seat for Burbridge and Ojemudia," said Trieu. "I do think the Ohio State offer puts them right in the mix for Burbridge, too, though.

Just got done watching his film, the kid is legit. He made some incredible catches and shows great concentration. He even made a diving one-hander. He has good speed and quickness but his catching ability is what really jumped out at me.

Couldn't agree more.

Great WR prospect. Legit speed and size.

He has some work ahead for him to become fully qualified.

Michigan getting two of his HS teammates has possibly pulled them even with Sparty for his services. Some talk from his HS that he will join the teammates at Michigan.

Michigan St. verbal.

Great pickup for Dantonio, held UM, OSU, ND offers, and UM was feeling very good about their chances for a long time.

He has some work to do in the classroom, but that wasn't why UM fell off, considering that was the case back when UM boards were first told to get excited about their chances.

50.1% chance a certain source indicates that UM "didn't want him"

Spartanmag.com writer Rico Beard recently tweeted that incoming freshman Aaron Burbridge expects to be fully qualified in July.

Burbridge's academic status has been the talk of Spartan recruitniks since he signed his LOI in February. Assuming he does make the grade, look for him to see the field as a true freshman.
