Florida visited one of the top wide receiver prospects in the nation this week -- Robert Foster.

The ESPN 150 star is the No. 2-ranked wide receiver in the country. He already has more than 30 scholarship offers from top schools and still remains open

Foster hasn?t thought much about when he will narrow his list or make a decision. He wants to take the summer to spend time with his family, work out with his team and prepare for his senior season.

Don't expect a signature moment when Robert Foster makes his college decision. No television cameras will be necessary.

Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley head coach Mark Lyons said his superstar receiver won't have a lineup of hats in front of him when he announces his commitment, likely sometime this fall. The nation's second-best receiver prospect in the country will try to break the news quietly. That's just his nature.

Lyons describes Foster as the very opposite of the typical diva receiver football fans have come to expect. Foster isn't comfortable with interviews and ? believe it or not ? is quite modest.

The signing of Julio Jones back in 2008 was a crucial moment for the Alabama football program in its rise to the top of college football. Now Nick Saban and his staff are working to land the signature of the nation's best wide receiver in the hopes that he could have a Julio-like impact on the Tide offense.

Monaca, Pennsylvania star Robert Foster is rated by 247Sports as the top wide receiver prospect for the Class of 2013 and the 6-foot-3, 190-pound prospect has fielded scholarship offers from dozens of programs from coast to coast. As a junior, Foster dominated his competition in Pennsylvania, catching 37 passes for 584 yards and five touchdowns while also lining up at safety on defense, where he registered 57 tackles, four interceptions, three pass breakups and a forced fumble.

After taking several unofficial visits during the spring, including a trip to Alabama for the A-Day spring game, Foster is beginning to make plans for his official visits in the fall and while he has yet to determine which five schools will receive those visits, Foster's coach tells 247Sports that there is one school guaranteed to receive an official visit.

"Alabama may be his only official one definitely," said Mark Lyons, Foster's head coach at Central Valley (Pennsylvania) High School. "I think we're going to let the summer finish out, and by the end of summer when we get into our official camp, he'll have an idea of where he's going to take those five official visits."

While the appeal of playing close to home is believed to be a factor for Foster, some analysts believe the Crimson Tide may be well-positioned to lure the five-star playmaker away from the Northeast.

"If he leaves the East/Midwest area, Alabama is the school I think has the best shot of pulling him," 247Sports analyst Steve Wiltfong said in regards to his report on Foster. "I think the bells and whistles at Alabama, all the tradition, Nick Saban, his spring game experience, have the Tide near the top of his list."

Don't know what article you read but it's right there in the beginning of the interview...though it doesn't sound like the version we heard (how things went down).

"Whitehead recently went on his first college visit, to Ohio State with Foster. Things went well for the both of them. ?We talked to the coaches and they made us feel very comfortable. Every college tells you want you want to hear, but when you commit to a school, you know that?s where your heart is. Ohio State also has great facilities, and I feel I would fit in well there, I can?t say I?m going to commit to Ohio State, but I really like the place,? said Foster. "Can you respond to the rumors that your unofficial visit didn't go well?" That's the question that a journalist asks. The response there was not based on that type of question.

It's possible that prior to the interview, young Mr. Foster indicated that he didn't want to discuss the negative aspects of the visit....maybe...

Otherwise, I agree that it should have been part of the interview and it would have allowed Foster to provide his perspective and even "clear the air" if he felt it was necessary to do so.

However, I think it was a solid interview even without broaching the topic and I came away with a positive impression of both of the young men.

I think many of us are wishing the situation with Robert Foster has changed since the last time we heard reliable information. Personally, I'm going to keep thinking he isn't going to be a part of this class until I hear different from people like Wade, Grad, union, etc.
