'14 TX C Elbert Robinson (LSU Verbal)

Would be great to land Elbert and land the missing piece to the '14 class. Height has its advantages. It looks like LSU is the closest competitor here for the verbal.

With OSU supposedly being so far down Myles' list it appears Elbert is our best shot among the big men.

Absolutely.

I really like OSU's chances with Elbert. I think it would be a great fit for both. OSU is his best offer, and OSU badly needs a true center (no disrespect to Okonoboh but he is at best a hybrid 4/5 and wouldn't be able to hold his own defensively with the Derrick Nixes of the world). I've said before that Elbert is a Big Ten style big man, as he's not going to mind the slightly slower tempo in the Big Ten because he needs to work on getting in better shape anyway, and he can fit right in with the physical style of play in the B1G.

Truly a massive human being, would be a big piece to the puzzle for OSU (literally and figuratively). I don't think he's going to have a big impact as a freshman due to conditioning issues, but that's OK for the Bucks as they ought to have Amir still for that year and I think Elbert can develop into a dominating presence in the post eventually.

Yes, he would add to the growing collection of Lefties on the team. Pretty soon they might have problems adjusting to playing against right-handed opponents with all the lefties they practice against .

I think as a freshman, Robinson would be a guy that could make a huge impact for a few 4-minute stretches each half. Maybe give him 16-20 minutes a game, depending on the overall tempo the game is being played at. You mentioned Okonoboh having trouble defending the "Derrick Nix's of the world" and it is funny, because I think Robinson could be a bigger and more talented Derrick Nix for the Buckeyes.

bust.

we're not getting Turner. Matta will need some homerun hits with the 2015 bigs.

shame cuz the rest of the '14 class is so good, just needed that big that'd be a high-level contributor no later than his soph year.

Disappointed that Elbert picked an SEC also-ran, but I guess Johnny Jones has a lot of connections in that area. Sucks to lose a big man to LSU in two straight classes, though, when OSU is a lot better program right now.
