Buckey Traditions

THE BAND... Ben, watch Ohio State's band - The Best Damn Band in the Land! No offense, our band is going to blow yours away. If you're at the game, watch them do Script Ohio. One of the best traditions in all of college football. It's not the same as seeing it at the 'Shoe, but it's still awesome.

Also, we do an O-H-I-O chant that will go around the stadium. If you can catch one of our more recent big games on ESPiN Classic, you might notice it.
I look forward to it. That is the great thing about College Football, the traditions and the passion the fans have for the teams, schools & bands. I enjoy a good halftime show, so I look forward to it.

No offense either, but it will have to be dang good to beat the Texas A&M band. Halftime is the absolute best part of playing the Aggies. Something about a military marching band that I like.

I also look forward to the O-H-I-O chant, just dont do it when we are on offense!

We will get the Orange Power chant going for you.

Man, this game isnt gonna get here soon enough!

See ya in San Antonio!

Ben... the best part of Script Ohio is the Dotting of the "i". I don't know any Buckeye fan that doesn't get cold chills and goosebumps when it comes time for that. hell, I'm getting goosebumps just talking about it. Does anyone have any video of a recent Script Ohio maybe from a meatchicken game or something so we can give these guys a little glimpse of it? VG...I'm sure you have something.

The bigten system is about getting the call right, because the impartial guy upstairs saw something that could reverse the call.

I disagree, how bout the fumble in the Wiscy game. Stupid rule there. I have watched alot more of the NFL this year, mainly because college didnt seem as exciting as normal. Also remember the new rule that if you get both challenges right, you get a 3rd as bonus. But stop jumping all over me first off, cause I didnt say I want it to be EXACTLY like the NFL system, I said I like the idea, that the coach can challenge a call, he has a much better view. There would never be a perfect replay system, i realize that. Much like unless we go to a playoff in college, the BCS will continue to blow donkey nuts.

That fumble play would have been different if the official would have blown the whistle after the whole pile jumped on... you are talking about the Pittman fumble right... we had another go bad for us where I think we stripped the ball but the ref prematurely blew the whistle and the play was dead... both of those cases would have went our way but because it was an officiating mistake there was nothing the replay adviser could overturn. The play was dead.

Right, my point being, everybody saying how great the replay system was, as it was, this year......I dont agree with that. Those 2 calls right there are prime examples. And putting the intact NFl system in place isnt necessarily going to fix that, i just mean that alot of those retarded rules need to be changed.

Whoa! Beer isn't that expensive down here (maybe it is at The Alamo Dome ... *duh*). $1.50 happy hour longnecks are commonplace. Try Shiner Bock ... you can get it in every Texas ice house, bar and restaurant (I think its a law).
You are probably right I was there two summers ago. I dropped $100 the first night. Jager Bombs are expensive. not beer...

in those situations nothing could've been done under either system. you would have to review the play and give the ball to the team that recovered it at the spot of recovery. Or in the case of the Pittman fumble overturn the ref's late whistle and give the ball back to tOSU at the spot where forward momentum is lost. I think the B10 replay is a lot better than the pro's. I think the pro system does slow the game way too much. It really doesn't matter what I think though, who the hell am I anyways?

Yeah I guess the slowing down part does suck, I dont notice it as much in the pro's though, since they have a commercial between each play anyway.

That was my main point in the whole thing, the replay SHOULD be able to overturn the refs whistle, refs are mostly 90 years old and cant see anyway :)

No, no, no, don't get Shiner Bock. No need for you guys to do that. Nothing special about Shiner. Nothing at all. Need to leave it to the natives.:tongue2:
