I am now on my wireless laptop due to Frances so I am not going to copy and paste the whole thing but go look at the boxscore from the Troy/MU game and you will be shocked.

IIRC:
-MU had 84 total rushing yards(not net yds) on 34 carries and gave up 8 sacks.
-Troy had more penalties and TO's than MU and still won. This illustrates my point about it not being a flukey win-Troy just physically whipped MU.
-KO returns were terrible for MU, something like 45 yds on 3 returns and their returner kept trying to bring it from 2-3 yds deep in the endzone.

All in all from seeing the boxscore and the first half of the game, unless MU gets a talent transplant by Saturday they are in a lot of trouble. They showed absolutely nothing that should cause concern for OSU fans.

This game should just be looked at as another good warm up/test for the young guys to get better and prepare for NCSU.

This is all just a part of Pruett's master plan to hustle the Bucks. He knows that Tressel sent Arden down just to take out his best players and now he is making their team look terrible. OSU is going to play right into Marshall's hands as Pruett is making us think they are bad, when they are really great. You know they would run the B10 if they were in it. Genius I tell you, genius!

Final Score

I ran a couple simulations of this game on NCAA 2005 and I got an average score of 41 to 20 with OSU winning. I think the points spread of 21 is about right but the computer doesn't play much defense so i think its more like 31 to 10 OSU. I just dont see JT running up the score.

vegas point spread

Sep. 11 Marshall
12:30 a.m. at Ohio State
Favorite OHST OHST
Point spread -16 -16

It's the early line so things can change. I think the spread will depend on if Branden Joe is healthy. It will be nice if Frost is also healthy.

Interesting thing is that Marshall lost to Troy State last year also, and that game wasn't as close. I guess that tells you at what level their program is.

Listen up, Herd fans -- you are going to get rolled like a drunk in an alleyway. Also, Stan Hill might want to place a call to former Wisky QB Brooks Bollinger and ask him about some photo he autographed once...

Put me down for 40-3, and I'm being generous with that 3, and conservative with the 40. A 16 point line on this is candy from a baby.

I'd like to see us do an Oklahoma and run the score up into the 70s, but I know we won't.

A good solid win, with a heavy dose of humiliation for the Herd faithful, will suffice. Let them know that we could score 70, but have enough class not to.

Two things I am sure about we will run up the score enough that we will not have to worry about a comeback.

The other thing is that a combination of JT and Marshall will not allow this game to turn into a blowout.

Marshall willl score 10-17 pts, and Ohio state will score 31-35 pts.

My Guess:

Marshall 17 Ohio State 34

You are predicting the herd to put 17 on us? Did you see what the midget condoms did to their offensive line? EIGHT SACKS TO TROY STATE!!! I think i may be afraid for stan hills health... he should get one of those huge insurance policies before his next game..

I was hoping for a good game, because I'm going to be there.

They seem to be a reasonably solid team--everywhere but the O-Line that is. Their O-Line looked like a bunch of big, fat, slow, high school boys. Given that, I don't give Marshall much chance to make a game of it.

On the positive side, we should be able to contain them all day using only our base defense (thereby not showing future opponents anything).

If week 1 is an indication, Marshall will be lucky to net 17 yards, let alone 17 points. However, week 1 probably isn't very determanitive.

I say OSU wins, but I doubt OSU will blow them up. I'd say something similar to the UC game. Probably cover a 15 point spread. I'd rather see a 50 - 3 shellacking, but I'm not going to get too goofy over a loss to Troy State no matter how ugly. Hell, OSU lost to AF once.... of course, I think it's safe to say OSU did suck that year.. *ahem*
