Again, in the National Title game of 2002, as we are all aware, Terry Porter threw a flag that I still to this day believe was gutsy and correct. If an official is certain that a foul was committed, they have a duty to call it regardless of the time of game. Otherwise, you're stuck in a situation where coaches are telling their players to foul in clutch situations.

I agree that the Mavs got jobbed throughout the game... just not on the foul play.

EDIT: I also agree with the above article that Wade reminds me of Jordan. I know, I know. What a dangerous and unfair comparison. But for those that watched the fourth quarter on Sunday, did Wade not look like Jordan?

How does Wade compare to Jordan? Even Wade's teammates say that hes milking some of his injuries. Wade also plays worse defense than even Lebron. Wade was 11-28 from the floor, those are hardly Jordan numbers, the only thing going for him was that you cant breath on him without getting a foul.

Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan in the NBA right now.

I don't consider Wade injured, and I am not adding that into my analysis.

At the point DWade is at now, Jordan was playing poor defense as well. But offensively, let's take a look at the comparison between a refined, championship-form Jordan, and a young Dwyane Wade.

1998 NBA Finals (Jordan's last championship for those who didn't know):

From the field:

Game 1: 13-29
Game 2: 14-33
Game 3: 7-14
Game 4: 12-27
Game 5: 9-26
Game 6: 15-35

2006 NBA Finals - DWade from the field:

Game 1: 11-25
Game 2: 6-19
Game 3: 14-26
Game 4: 13-23
Game 5: 11-28

Wade took over Games 3-5, with the help of the officials no doubt. But so did Jordan. Don't kid yourself about that. DW has shown flashes on defense, and just needs to refine his game on that end.

The Kobe comparisons are valid on the surface. But would Jordan have disappeared against the Suns in Game 7? No way!

Why the choice of the Bulls 1998 Championship, because MJ was suffering from the flu, as was DWade?:wink2:

Wade has Shaq. Jordan had Pippen who was good, but does not demand as much attention as what Shaq does. Double and triple teams. It is hard for teams to double Wade and when they do Wade has the luxury to lob it up to Shaq.

Hell Wade isnt even in the top 3 players in the league: Lebron, Kobe, Dirk.

I have no problem saying Wade is a great player and is going to be great, but Jordan was the best player of all time and we saw what Shaq did for Kobe when he was on his team and then Kobe couldnt even get his team to the playoffs without Shaq.

Got me!

Ok, Ok, I'll honor requests. Jordan's '96 Finals performance:

Game 1: 9-18
Game 2: 9-22
Game 3: 11-23
Game 4: 6-19
Game 5: 11-22
Game 6: 5-19

I stand by my seemingly outlandish comments. Dwyane Wade is the next Jordan. He may not win as many championships, because Lebron is the first Lebron. But it's going to be a fun rivalry if Lebron stays in Cleveland and DWade stays in Miami.

- This Shaquille O'Neal is not "Shaq" as we knew him during the Lakers' three-year run. It's not even close. Sometimes it's painful to watch this Shaquille.

- Wade did get his team to the playoffs in his rookie year, without Shaq and with Lamar Odom I might add. He had Kobe's team then - and Wade is much better now.

- Wade is outclassing Dirk right now. It hasn't even been close the last three games. The officials have had a lot to do with, but no question that Dirk is playing poorly right now. (outside of those clutch shots he hit Sunday night - which were amazing by the way).

- Wade's shot is looking silky smooth from inside the arc. He's getting better as the playoffs roll on. He gets better as the game goes on. He's taking over games in the fourth quarter - becoming almost unstoppable. Check those past three sentences. Sounds like Jordan to me.

Just curious if you were saying the same stuff about Kobe, b4 Shaq left.

Not at all. And it wasn't until just before the Finals, when I saw how ineffective Shaq has been in the fourth quarter that I started thinking that about DWade.

The only thing I question about Wade is whether he has Jordan's competitiveness. Kobe doesn't have it and never did. I have yet to see it out of Wade yet, but I sense it's coming. His humility is refreshing, but I want to see the competitiveness come jumping out before he's ready to take the next step.

How can you root for Wade?

Im watching the game right now, rolling on the floor laughing because of a foul Wade just drawed. He was defender by Devon Harris, and took him to the hoop. Harris backed off of him a couple of feet, and Wade jumped up in the air right into him, drawing a foul call.

It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

what a wild finish...

11, if the refs were biased, then why are they calling traveling to give Dallas a chance? Or the double dribble call on Posey a few plays earlier? Personally, I think they just stunk all-around.
And people call soccer players foul-selling pussies...D-Wade deserves an Oscar.
agreed. It ruined tv soccer for me, and is on its way to doing so for basketball as well.

That was the play when Terry had a shot to win before overtime in Game 5 in Miami. BTW it wasnt called a foul. Yet Dwhine Wade gets a bogus foul call when the game is on the line.

The NBA is such a joke.
