ESPN was having one of their contrived "debates" on rough play in the NBA and NHL (as if they actually compare), and had Screaming A. Smith and Barry Melrose discussing it. Melrose basically commented that it was stupid for Stoudemire and Diaw to get suspended for walking about 25 feet, implying that if they were gonna get suspended, they may as well have gone out there and beat some ass. I have to say I agree. If those two were gonna be stupid enough to get suspended and cost their team a game and perhaps their season, they may as well have gone all the way and beat the shit out of Horry.

If they had thrown punches it would have been a much greater than 1 game suspension. They almost won game 5 without those two, but if they'd been without them for the rest of the series, they would have been doomed for sure.

Now that they've lost, hindsight is 20/20. It's easy to say "they should have gone in and beat up Horry" but at the time, it would have been a super bonehead maneuver.

I remember cheering like crazy when the Spurs won their first championship, but now I regret it. When did they become the biggest group of bitches in the NBA? Does Duncan or Ginobli EVER think they commit a foul? Every time Duncan was stripped of the ball, I expected his eyes to pop out of his head because the refs only sometimes called the foul.

I was also surprised Fisher didn't get in a better shot on Ginobli there at the end...

Of course, ignoring the ticky tack offensive fouls called against Duncan in Game 3. :roll1:

It was in Utah...

Then in game four Utah got homered on their own court...

Either way both teams, and pretty much every team in the NBA does this whine act and it gets old...

I liked early in the season when there was no tolerance, but they have started to let everything slide again...
