Are you forgetting that they got a pretty talented QB that some experts projected would go in the top 3 fat the 22nd pick. I realize that you aren't a Quinn fan, but I'm willing to see if he pans out before I talk about how dumb of a move this was.

So since the experts said so, that makes it true?

Kiper is an idiot... it's hilarious listening to him throw out 40 times and basically saying that is the most important "stat" of a football player. You can tell Keyshawn is getting frustrated with Mel.

Except that tells us nothing about the value the Ravens were willing to put on the table. (And, yes the Cowboys or Ravens or both - independently - could have been bluffing).

NFL Network reported that it was the same deal. The reason the Cowboys would rather do it with us was that obviously we had a higher 2nd round pick and it's reasonable to suspect that we could have a higher 1st round draft pick next year.

if you want to narrowly interpret it that way, assuming cleveland doesn't use that draft pick money to sign a FA next year, or even during June cuts.

Cleveland has something like $20M in cap space the last I heard.

plus they have an additional one time $6 million cap exception this year, which will likely be used to accelerate some bonuses.

so, it essentially lets cleveland pick up a rb in FA next year.
