Setting aside the issue of Washington's draft status, let's look at what the two corners can do against Hardy.
Funnily enough though keeping Hardy under 50 is exactly what Jenkins and Washington did last year against Indiana - 45 yards, total, dreaming isn't needed.

Yes, but Hardy has gotten significantly better as a WR this year. I'd be willing to bet Jenkins stuck him the entire game anyway seeing as how he's IU's #1. I never questioned Jenkins' status as a first rounder

there you go.. I didn't know the stats but knew Hardy didn't get over 50 against us last year.

I didn't know the transitive property SEC fans are so fond of applied to matchups as well as team victories  (Yeah, I know that isn't quite what you mean, I just gotta get my cheap matchups while I can"

Hardy is a very good WR and King is a pretty good CB, he certainly has the ability to lock down one of our WRs, I think we have the advantage in our depth, the 2nd and 3rd matchups are definitely in our favor. On defense, our LBs seem to be quicker and better at coverage than theirs but hopefully the Animal will be able to help stuff the run and get some pressure on Morelli

Thats the thing though.. We don't say to our Corners " he's your man".. We have our corners stay on their side of the field no matter who comes out. So No Jenkins was not locked in on Hardy. Against Purdue this year Jenkins was not locked onto Dorian Bryant, Washington and also Chikwa were responsible for Bryant as well as Jenkins. It was mostly Chikwa though who took Bryant

Whoever reciever comes to your side of the field is who you get when you go agains the OSU defense... Which is why its hard to deny Washington as well because he's winning the battle against the other teams #1 as well..

I was at the game, in the stands, and that assertion about Jenkins being assigned to Hardy all day isn't really true (not to contradict bukIpower, there was some switching from side to side, but not based purely on Hardy's alignment).

As for Hardy getting better with more experience, true - as it is also true for Jenkins and Washington.

OOOOOOOOOO menacing words from an e-tough guy. Oddly enough, I don't ever recall saying Laurinaitis was a bad linebacker or anything. I just said he wasn't "by far" the best LB and you went batshit.

Menacing? Dude, you seriously need to chill the hell out...

I also believe that King struggled so badly because he's such a small and frail guy, bigger receivers are able to push him around. Jenkins? Not so much. Who cares since Morgan Trent is better than these two anyway? I kid, I kid.

James Laurinaitis is a very good LB who may or may not be the best LB in the country.

haha morgan trent....Could be worse.. could be the Shazor or Mundy from the 04' Michigan secondary?

Washington is no bigger than King (weight wise) I still think Washington is the more physical Corner though...

THe OSU secondary might not be the most physical secondary in the nation (although they are still very very physical) but the thing that seperates this OSU secondary from most is their ability to cover. When your heaviest person in the secondary is 205 pounds that can only mean that that secondary has an abundance of speed! Which is the case with OSU. This OSU defense isn't particulary heavy in the back 7. The d-line though is fairly big with 265,285,300,285 across the line.

Trent has actually been not awful this year. Surprising. Maybe when Sears left he took all the shittiness out with him

Washington is listed as 6'1, 190 pounds and looks the part. King is listed at 185 and if you believe he's 185 pounds, I've got a pink elephant to sell you.

mannigham's double move is pretty sick out there... last year I remember he even got Jenkins on one of his double moves. That's the only time I can remember Jenkins being juked out. I think we'll do much better this year though against Michigans Offense. As long as we shut Hart down I could care less how the recievers do (of course we have to win the game too)

Washington is only a sophmore, but at this point I firmly believe he will be a first round pick when he goes. Even going back to when we had the likes of springs, winfield, plummer, and clements.. I dont remember when we have ever had 3 corners that I felt so confident in covering any teams WRs. The sheer fact that these three are good enough to keep clifford and amos off the field speaks volumes.

It is beyond me how JT could recruit a DB for this year's class. Even if we lose Jenkins next year and Washington the next we would have Coleman, Amos, Chekwa and Clifford. I have never ever ever seen anything like the log jam of talent on this D.
