1.) When was the last timne you've heard anything about OSU players getting in trouble for underage drinking and domestic disputes? For a hint, check our Police/Legal Blotter thread.

2.) There's a difference between not taking a lot of players from in-state and not being able to get top players from your state that you're after.

1.) How long ago did the Alex Boone thing happen? I guess that's the last time I've publicly heard of under-age drinking at OSU, but I'm taking the wild assumption that there's been alot more incidents of players drinking under-age since then. My guess though, those other players were just a tad bit smarter and didn't drink like oh, forty beers and then get behind the wheel of a car.

2.) Find the last 13 words of your second point somewhat ironic considering you keep bringing up Rivals' rankings of the in-state class in 2007 and saying UM failure to land one kid inside their Top 9 is an example of them not being able to get top players in-state that they are after.

HYSTERICAL considering they weren't even after 5 of those kids in that "Top 9". Four of them never even had an offer and one of them had his offer pulled. So I'm just puzzled as to how we're missing all these in-state guys we're after in that Top 9, when UM was only after four of them. How is it that in such a great year for talent UM only offered 10 in-state kids and took 5? Gee, you'd think if it was such a deep year that a school with 20 scholarships to give would offer more than 10 in-state kids.

Oh wait, that would mean you would have to admit that maybe it wasn't such a deep year and that maybe UM didn't offer some of those kids because they landed better prospects OOS. Why offer Nichol or Threet when you've got a Top 5 player in the nation from Texas at QB? Why offer Everson when you've got Michael Williams and Donovan Warren from California? Why push for Taurian Washington when you've already got in-staters James Rogers and Martell Webb in the bag to go along with Junior Hemingway of South Carolina and Zion Babb of California and when you are #1 on Toney Clemons' list?

OK look mario you really are not coming off as super right now. First you really did miss the point of jwins post - but that hasn't stopped you from defending your off-point response to the same.

Would it be fair in response for us to say the following?

"Gee, haven't heard anything about underage drinking on the TSUN football team, must be happening all the time and is under-reported.
Gee, didn't hear anything about money changing hands to get Warren into the class last year, that kind of thing happens all the time and is under-reported.
Gee, haven't heard too much more since (insert date) about dope and smoke and TSUN football - must be happening alot and just under-reported."
Why, no it would not.

As for your parsing of the history of TSUN in-state recruiting for your 2007 class - that isn't going to work here. We all remember the hand-wringing on GBW as the recruiting "season" progressed - culminating in a Rojo induced meltdown leading up to 2-4-2007.
Remember just as you watch our backyard - that's one of the reasons you are on here - Buckeyes fans do the same elsewhere.

1.) Oh, so now since you can't remember when any OSU player infractions have occured you can just make accusation based on your "wild assumption". By the way, even Boone didn't have 40 beers before he drove the car.

2.) Gee, I didn't realize that Michigan had no interest at all in Ronald Johnson (Rivals #1 WR), Dionte Allen, Joseph Barksdale, or Cedric Everson. Michigan offered all four (so much for lack of interest) and came away with none. IIRC, Johnson and Allen were even childhood fans of Michigan.

Those stats are false. Hate to piss on Everson's parade, but the Detroit PSL is notorious for coaches inflating their players measurables, stats, and ability, and like you said the competition is pretty much a joke. Everson didn't even have 7 interceptions, let alone 7 returned for touchdowns. I highly doubt he's got an offer from Ohio State, because he doesn't have one from Michigan or Michigan State, and Michigan State offers kids in Michigan that even the directional schools won't offer.

He never had an offer.
