Mike Glennon

Well, I was only about an hour ahead on the RM, but apparently Glennon was offered and committed to NCSt. ahead of TSUN, among others.

Pack Pride has confirmed that Chantilly (VA) Westfield quarterback Mike Glennon has committed to NC State.

"I committed to NC State about an hour ago," said Glennon. "They offered me the scholarship last night, and I wanted to tell the other colleges of my decision."

Glennon to NCSt.

Michigan just simply isn't going to get a highly touted QB in the '08 class. For one this really isn't that strong a year at QB, and two they just landed Mallett. Don't see many kids wanting to follow his act right away considering the QB job is basically his for 3 years after Henne graduates.

I think they'll wind up with the Wienke kid from Illinois in this class and maybe another developmental 2 or 3* kid. Look for them to target a big-time QB in 2009 and try to land him.

Hey, we could always pull the shocker of the year and land Pryor, but I think the heavy favorites for Pryor are Ohio State and PSU. I'd say OSU's chance right now is like 50%, PSU's is 41%, and then the 9 other schools are at 1%. Ultimately it's going to come down to OSU and PSU.

Yeah- I've heard there are only two legitimate elite level QB's this year (Pryor being one of them) and everybody else just isn't at that level. Combined with Mallett just starting to learn the system, I'm surprised y'all are trying to recruit a QB... though with your luck in PA (particularly the western half), you HAVE to recruit Pryor.

Well as of now UM only has 2 QB's on scholarship in '08, so they need to pick-up at least one QB in the 2008 class, probably should shoot for two. Regardless of our luck in PA, you just have to recruit Pryor. When a kid is as good as Pryor, doesn't matter how full you are at the position, what your needs are, or how many schollies you have left, you just find a way to make room for him and you recruit him as hard as you can.

I think you'll see Michigan get 3* John Wienke from Illinois and also down the road possibly offer 3* Nate Stanley from Oklahoma. Stanley did well at Michigan's camp but didn't get the coveted offer he was aiming for. Stanley did however say that if a Michigan offer came his way he'd likely jump at the chance to play at Michigan. I think they need 2 QB's, and those 2 QB's would fit their needs pretty well. Wienke is more polished and physically more developed (6'5, 215), whereas Stanley is raw, less physically developed (6'4, 190) but at the same time more athletic than Wienke.

If they don't wind up with either one, I think you'll see them shoot for two similar prospects at QB.

Given the growing contingent of TSUN supporters who populate the recruiting (and other) threads with AA-centric opinion I conclude that:

  • We have an exceptional site here - especially compared with....
  • GBW - this apparently must really suck like ditch water, evidently no-one wants to talk football, recruiting or matters politic. So...
  • We ought to have a Buckeye Liberty avatar used for all these incoming TSUN posters.
  • And their signature file?
"Give me your tired, your poor, your disheveled. Your 5 out of 6 loser fans yearning to see what a good Board is like."

Their boards may suck, but at lest they have yet to burn a future hall of fame coach in effigy....

BTW..

Could someone photoshop a wolverine in the statue of liberty stance holding the citrus bowl trophy instead of the torch? I think that would work very well.
