2008 Cavs-Wizards First Round series

That was awful. And like I said earlier this season, the Cavs biggest aquisition this offseason will be a coach who knows how to run an offense. It makes me want to puke when the offense I see for the entire last 2 minutes is give it to Lebron, try and pick and roll, and if it doesn't work, let him try to throw up a wild shot. Honestly, I think my little sister might be able to think of a better offense than Mike Brown. Its like addtion. The difference in height between Z (7' 2'') and Jamison (6' 8'' i think) is six freaking inches. You would think that some of the offense would go through him, but no not Mike Brown. Let's give Lebron the ball and run Z out 30 feet from the basket to set a pick and roll. Brilliant. OK that's all for my rant.

That game ended up becoming a matter of inches. Joe Smith and Z couldn't get the tap in... Butler got the roll on the game winner.... Lebron did not get the roll on his.

Sometimes it's that close. Cleveland gave this one away. Who knows what will happen now...

Yeah I agree, and don't forget about boobie's 3 that was right one line, but just a little flat...An inch or two higher and it rolls over the front of the rim...

LBJ makes that shot and he writes another chapter in his book...

I think Arenas is fine. He played 4 games with no problems, and he seemed to be leaping around like a retard during this one, I say he's just a quitter and we see him suit up Friday.

If not, that sucks, cause he really takes them down a notch or two.

Really frustrating that we were so close to finishing those punks, and now we have to bring it back to their house.

Better situation was last year, vs. NJ, cause I knew we'd take that in NJ. This time, I don't know, but I still like our chances.

We wake up, and roll by 10, says my prediction.

this game illustrated two things.

1. mike brown needs help developing an offensive system.

2. cleveland's bigs are poor at best. AV is terrible, absolutely terrible. Z is what he is, as is ben wallace, which isn't much anymore. joe smith needs to get his shooting groove back.

cleveland needs a PF or C that can bang down low and score points.

Poor at best???

Z had 18 pts in a playoff game, that is far from poor...We know what Big Ben brings, and he brought that in game 4 with his 12 boards and good defense...Not sure where you get AV is terrible...And Joe Smith has played well for us...

I would say that the SG position is where we are hurting the most...

joe smith is shooting 30% in the playoffs.

where do i get that AV is terrible? I don't know if it is his 29% from the field, or 42% from the line, or the fact that he almost commits as many fouls in his 20 minutes a game as he does score points.

ben wallace is what he is. an offensive liability that really can't be on the floor in the 4th quarter if the game is close.

Z is the only thing close to decent, but he gets bullied in the paint.

how you can watch the cavs and now see how pathetic the bigs are is the real question.

First round, could have put them away, easily. Sometimes they literally looked a little bored out there and not all that interested. Not worried but frustrated that the Cavs did not put them away.

Brings back memories of last year against the Nets...

These are the types of games that teams like the Spurs for example win easily because they have 3 or so guys that can score the ball, and take over a game...The Cavs on the other hand have LBJ and Z to some extent who both played well last night, but needed the help and didn't get it...Game 4 was great because of what West and Boobie brought...

Are our bigs pathetic or are they being underutilized?

Z has been consistently there. But what happened to making an effort to feed the big guy in the middle? Especially when we had the Wizards bigs in foul trouble? He wasn't being bullied from what I can see, the plays just were never called for him as they should. Seems like we went away from the 2man game between LeBron and Z for some strange reason.

AV needs to learn from Wallace... don't get crazy on the offensive side of the ball. Anytime AV gets the ball at the top of the key he has this crazy notion he can dribble drive like the tazmanian devil. He needs to pass the ball more from that spot.

Joe Smith I have been disappointed with in the playoffs. He was a steady force in the regular season and was underused in my opinion. But his shot is lost now, he was hitting those 10-15 footers and now he is missing them.

But this is a far cry from saying our bigs are pathetic. Most teams would kill for our 4 bigs. But I have a feeling they would use them differently, and that is my biggest beef, Mike Brown.

I could go on and on about how bad Mike Brown is, but that is preaching to the choir. Needless to say is our offense looks its best when we do one of 3 things. 1) 2 man game between Z & LeBron 2) Feeding Z in the post and 3) West or Gibson is starting the offense and LeBron is either posting up or cutting to the paint

In the final 2 minutes we basically just played prevent offense and hoping LeBron would create. He can't do that all the time and when he fails, the Cavs lose.
