High School 2008 Kirk Herbstreit Ohio vs. USA Challenge

Yeah, I am a little upset to not see any of the Cleveland Area teams in this.

Cmon now where is Glenville, Iggy, Eds, and i'd even start throwing Mentor into the mix given what they've done the last couple of years.

Any of these teams before Massillon!
Is Massillon simply an automatic invite because of the location or history?
In the last five years this school has had teams that were not very good at all. I know they've had a couple losing seasons in the past 5 years.
I would think KH would want to have the best Ohio schools facing these out of state powers. Massillon has been that once in the last five years.
Many Ohio schools are more deserving.

Herbstreit means big prep weekend

The Kirk Herbstreit Challenge will be held at Paul Brown Stadium beginning Saturday. Elder plays St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) at 11 a.m., followed by Middletown playing Indianapolis Warren Central, Colerain playing McKeesport (Pa.) and St. Xavier playing Prattville (Ala.).


There are three games Sunday: Moeller vs. Montgomery Bell (Tenn.) at noon, followed by Huber Heights Wayne vs. East St. Louis (Ill.) and Lakota West vs. Chicago St. Rita.

Covington Catholic will be participating in the Challenge at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, playing Youngstown Cardinal Mooney at 5 p.m. Saturday.

not particularly a good lineup of teams from Ohio this year either though...

some of those teams had no business being there while majority of the best teams in Ohio sat at home.

Not a single Cleveland area team in it this year is just astounding.
