2008 tOSU Spring Game (4/19) & Practice Discussion

I'm driving up from NC for this game for the first time so I can take all three kids to a game at the same time. Any advice for what time to get there, which gate to use, etc.? I assume there's no advance ticket sale or assigned seating, right?

Tix are sold in advance at hangonsloopy.com. Probably around $5 a seat, with (I think) under age 5 free. Def buy ahead, unless you want to stand in tix lines at the Shoe. My guess is they go on sale in about a month?

Probably all gates will be open. Few sections behind the bench will be reserved for big donors/friends of school but otherwise Shoe is open seating. A few ushers will be around, probably to point out the bathrooms and such. Unless you don't care where you sit, get there well before the LAX game (warmup act?) starts, which I think is around 11:00 am. Otherwise you'll be pretty high up.

Concession stands will be open, but vendors did not come to seats..in our sections anyway. Cheerleaders will be there, split into Scarlett and Gray squads. Band will sit in split squad too and play as usual between plays.

Regular officials are used, and they'll announce their calls like a regular game, but no replay appeals. Scoreboard will show replays and commercials like reg season too.

Outside the Shoe will also be like a reg game...plenty of tailgates and venders hawking stuff...parking about as bad too.

Bring a camera to get some pics of your kids! You, and they, will have a fantastic time...unless the weather is really, really bad. Enjoy!!

:oh:

that lacrosse game prior to the spring game should be great. i would suspect you want to get there for that game to have really good seats for the spring game considering it's general admission. denver plays a really fun and fast style of lacrosse, so it should be fun to watch.

Looks like Bama plans to fill their stadium for the Spring game - they had 92,000 that showed up with free admission last year.

Tide spring game will feature Jackson

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Country singer Alan Jackson will perform at Bryant-Denny Stadium on April 11, the eve of Alabama's spring game.

It will be the first live performance held at the stadium since the university's Football Centennial Celebration in 1992.

The Gridiron Bash pre-game festivities will also include a pep rally with the team and appearances by Crimson Tide coaches.

Alabama drew 92,000-plus fans to last year's A-Day contest, setting a national record for spring games thanks to excitement generated by the hiring of coach Nick Saban.

Cont'd ...

Any news on when tickets will be available?

They are not selling any football tickets yet, but if you buy a ticket for the men's lacrosse game that day, it will get you into the Spring Game. They're trying to set an attendance record.

It also looks like the $5.00 lacrosse ticket is the same price as the Spring Game last year, but there's a group rate of $4 for 50 or more.

Click this link, then click "Tickets". then "Public Buy Tickets", then "Men's Lacrosse".
