Hell of the North (paris-Roubaix). Best race in the World. BTW that road was built by the Romans and it's never been improved since. 17 sections of Pave' I believe. Like riding across concrete loaves of bread covered in slime.

Huge win for Sastre on l'Alpe D'Huez today. He broke away early in the climb, and led all the way to the top, winning the stage by over 2 minutes.

Can Cadel Evans win the time trial over Sastre by 1:35? It will be the most interesting time trial since Greg LeMond overtook Laurent Fignon on the final stage in Paris to win by 8 seconds in 1989.

Note - these are only the guys that are relevant to the vBet

00:00 Carlos Sastre (new leader)
01:24 Frank Schleck (leader)
01:33 Bernhard Kohl ("field")
01:34 Cadel Evans
02:39 Denis Menchov
04:41 Christian Vande Velde ("field")
05:35 Alejandro Valverde
08:35 Kim Kirchen
10:15 Andy Schleck
12:26 Damiano Cunego

Vandevelde rode a great race. Just could not get any time.

CSC did it. Hats off. Still going to be very close for the TT.

Andy Shlek is the best rider in the race. He was not even working hard on the ADH climb. Seriously, he was just playing with those guys.

Sastre is going to win it. He only lost 29 seconds to Evans in today's time trial, and tomorrow will be a champagne-sipping ride to Paris before the final sprint in which everybody will get the same time.

Sastre was great on l'Alpe d'Huez, and pretty good in today's time trial - he deserves to beat Evans.

The top 10:

00:00 Sastre
01:04 Evans
01:20 Kohl
02:00 Menchov
03:12 Vande Velde
04:28 F. Schleck
06:32 Sanchez
07:02 Kirchen
07:26 Valverde
09:12 Valjevec

If I had bet 1,000,000 vDollars on Sastre at 19:1 odds I'd probably say that too.

Amazing what you can do when you own the elitist vbank isn't it?

I bet v$22 million on the race and only got 20 back, so I wasn't cheering for Sastre. :wink2:

There are some irregularities. Until BB73s B sample comes back I would discourage any payouts.

Who wins the Yellow Jersey after the last stage in Paris?

Note - Once the victory celebration is held, the vBet will be paid out and be considered permanently over, regardless of any later appeals, etc.

Sastre has been on the podium, and the vbet has been paid. If he loses the race later due to any reason, it won't change how this vBet was settled. Even though making Evans the winner would result in an additional $16 million for me. :wink2:
