2009 TSUN News (football only discussion)

I don't think it is unreasonable to believe that the Buckeyes could put a 10+ year win streak on these guys.

The lose alot of their most talented players. Graham, 3 OL, Mathews, Minor, and Brown...ouch. Their defense will be worse next year...I can't wait.

That is a bold statement, but it might not be far off. The way the quarterbacks get hit in RichRod's offense and the fact that we play them the last game of the year, they could be starting the second string QB in 5 out of those 10 games. Of course, once that streak hits four games, we would not be seeing RichRods offense anymore.

Tate Forcier's statistics so far:
First two weeks: 36-53 419 yds 68% 5 td 1 int 24 rush 107 yds 1 td

Last four weeks: 43-85 569 yds 50% 4 td 3 int 37 rush 73 yds 1 td
Or to put it into game averages:
Started: 18-26 210 yds 68% 2.5 td 0.5 int 12 rush 53 yds 4.45 ypc 0.5 td

Lately: 8.5-17 113 yds 50% 0.8 td 0.6 int 7.4 rush 14.6 yds 1.9 ypc 0.2 td
Both IU & MSU saw late rallies which really distorted his overall performance. MSU had 2nd & short and 3rd & short w/ 3 min left. They failed to convert both, as they got conservative and UM stacked the box against the obvious runs.
Before the last 3 min, Tate had 73 yds of offense.
After the last 3 min and OT, Tate had 250 yds of offense.

Before the last 3 min, Tate had thrown 18 passes.
After the last 3 min and OT, Tate had nearly doubled his pass attempts.

Before the last 3 min, Tate 128 yds 0 td passing.
After the last 3 min, Tate had 223 yds 2 td 1 int passing.

Before the last 3 min, Tate had -8 yds rushing.
After the last 3 min, Tate had 27 yds rushing.
Tate has also had a lot of turnovers lately, as well as a number of other close calls.

When you say it like that, it puts it into a little bit more of a perspective. I guess I just figured that it was only a matter of time before they got better. With them iffy with the whole QB situation, you may be right.

I searched for a thread for a while and didn't find anything. Feel free to split or move or delete or whatever.

http://www.detnews.com/article/20091016/OPINION03/910160347/Delaware-State-could-lose-twice-Saturday-and-still-make-$550-000

The cynical media has branded it a money grab because the Hornets are getting approximately $550,000 for the trip, which conflicted with an already-scheduled game, which led to the forfeit that will drop them to 1-4 before they miss a single tackle Saturday.
ESPN - Conversations: No good comes from this game

DSU has to forfeit its Oct. 17 game against North Carolina A&T because school negotiators somehow forgot to rearrange the team's existing schedule.

When that comes to pass then we will have come 180deg from the Cooper years with tsun.

Cooper-
always fielded a good team that broke my heart in November.

[sarcasm]Drod -[/sarcasm]
Hefields a crappy team that nobody expects to win The Game. It's like taking a lame dog out to be shot. Except it's the dog that pissed on the carpet, took a crap on your bed, bit your daughter in her sleep and would cost 5k to fix its twisted stomach. Some time you cry why Old Yeller dies, some times he has it coming.

+1 on that. Hurt QB's made Stash look like a good coach. I wonder how Tressel would look? I was reading on the O-zone that his decorum is different on Michigan week and not suitable to print. I don't think Tressel will get tired of beating those guys.

Please, please, do NOT insult dogs like that. Many of us love dogs. :)

and as much as some of us still hold a grudge against Coop don't insult him with a Dick Rod comparison.

Cooper at his very worst, taking over a talent challenged program in the first few years ('88-'93) NEVER went 3-9 or lost to a fucking 3 win MAC team at home.

I agree. Cooper infuriated me. He had moments when he was pathetically rent-seeking (hello, Mr Hot Tub). But, he never sunk to anything near the RR standard.
