Lundar resident faces charges over 911 calls - Winnipeg Free Press

1. Man gets blackout drunk
2. Obviously he decides to call 911
3. His main complaint, "Why haven't the police done something to get the Jets back to Winnipeg?"
4. After being hung up on - he calls back multiple times, still drinking.
5. Police inform him they're coming to pick him up and he requests "Well, if you're coming out here...can you at least pick up some smokes?"

AWESOME.

lou is considering one of the architects of the cba, graves is a highly respected agent. its going to arbie, proving bad faith might be hard, id expect it restructured somehow in arbie. the problem is they let this hogwash start last summer, should have stumped it out then. then again the cba should have limited highest paid year to be something like only twice the lowest paying, or something to that extent.

Pleased with who the Canucks have brought in so far... Probably gave up too much for Ballard, but they badly needed defense. Hamhuis is a huge get on D as well, and he gave the canucks a hometown discount. Add to that Malhotra, who is an all around solid player, this team should be even more dangerous next year.

God, I hate Vancouver.

Is it because of the old V neck jerseys in the 70's and 80's? Becuase if that is the case I fully understand your feelings.

Luongo gave up his captaincy today to focus on being a goalie. Hearing that OSU alum Ryan Kesler may be in line to be the new captain, which would be a great selection in my book. Either him or Henrik would be great.

I would imagine it's going to be a Sedin....

Devils have to give up a first-round pick of their choice in the next four years, and a third rounder. Also fined $3 (doesn't count against the cap). All this for trying to circumvent the cap with Kovalchuk's first contract.

Glad they did something about it, but the other blatantly obvious examples are going unpunished? Doesn't seem right.

But hopefully this is the end of those ridiculous contracts.

Thrashers goalie Pavelec collapses in opening minutes vs. Caps

ATLANTA (AP) ? Atlanta Thrashers goalie Ondrej Pavelec (FSY) was in stable condition at a hospital Friday night after collapsing to the ice in the early minutes of the season-opening game against the Washington Capitals.

Thrashers GM Rick Dudley told the Associated Press during the second intermission that the 23-year-old Pavelec had regained consciousness.

"We probably won't know anything more until after the game," Dudley said of Pavelec, who lost consciousness and was taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

Early in the third period, the team released a statement saying preliminary tests failed to determine any serious health problems.

"He's awake, alert and asking about the score of the game, but will be kept overnight for observation," the statement said.
