2010 Florida Gators Baseball

We had our asses handed to us my Ole Missy last series, although we salvaged a win on Sunday. We beat Vandy on Friday on Den Decker's dinger, so we escaped. We stranded eleven in one of the ole miss losses, so sometimes it is just the Hitting Gods letting you get one with people on base. More troubling is the loss to FSU to lose the series, where we committed five errors. Aw well. If we get to a regional Mike Martin is always there to over manage and grasp a loss from the jaws of victory.

Beat Vandy 7-3 to win the series. Big freshman lefty Brian Johnson (3-1) helped himself with a three for three batting effort, including a walk and a double, to raise his batting average to .441 (he hit .551 in HS)

After a shakey start on the mound, he steadied his eratic curveball, gained a little control, and gutted out five innings, dropping his ERA to 3.09.

Good Job Brian. Keep on learning.

I absolutely love how Gator fans can come here, to buckeyeplanet, and discuss Gator baseball (while I'm at it reagdog, ASU baseball too :wink2:). I do not lend any sarcasm or rhetoric to my post, I actually love it. It's great for the site, and for college athletics all around. In a perfect world, we'd have a thread for every damn team in (almost) every damn sport, and their fans could congregate here, post about their teams and seasons, learn about the Buckeyes, and donate to the cause.

No lie, I love it.

How about exert your considerable influence and have them get rid of that abominable home plate shaped cut out at home. That is truly an insult to baseball and the ugliest field modification I've ever seen. Other than that, the team looks strong and good luck with the SEC wars. :)
