Guess I was crazy
For saying that I thought Denard Robinson could "possibly" be a better college player than Pat White. Some people thought I'd lost my mind. Wonder what happened to them?

QBFORCE HALL OF SHAME!!!!11!!1!!

My theory (blame those psych classes I took at tOSU, if you want) is that the kid never would have wanted to play football, if he'd been born into a different family. Doubt it was ever an option to consider doing anything else. And, clearly, when your assigned purpose in life is to fulfill daddy's unrealized athletic aspirations, failure (i.e., anything less than first-string) is not an option. Play-by-play announcers didn't help any last year either. It's gotta bite to be all-on the bench when this time last season they were practically annointing him tSUN's first freshman Heisman winner. The pressure he feels from his achievement-driven family must be seriously painful.

Yeah, I know sympathy for the devil is not appreciated around here.
Just thought I'd send the kid a little pity, since I doubt he's getting any at home.

"I don't know if the situation galvanized them even more," Rodriguez said. "I thought they were pretty tight to begin with...They were going to be hungry to play based on what they've heard in the last nine months."

After allegations of NCAA rule violations suggested unrest lingered inside the Michigan program, the Wolverines vowed to show they were still a united force, writes Adam Rittenberg (link).

With Michigan coming off...school-record...losses, Rodriguez's...quarterback...helped the Wolverines (1-0) look better on offense than they ever did [in previous seasons] with college football's winningest program...Robinson -- whose nickname is "Shoelace" because he doesn't tie his laces -- juked a couple defenders on a...TD run.

The Wolverines dropped...previous openers, losing to Utah in Rodriguez's Michigan debut and getting stunned by Appalachian State to begin Lloyd Carr's last season on the sideline.

Michigan hosts Notre Dame next week in a game that just became more interesting because both tradition-rich programs opened with routs.

Students chanted "Beat the Irish!" to the Wolverines when they gathered in a corner of the Big House after routing [their opponent].

The maize-and-blue clad fans also shouted encouraging words in unison for their embattled coach, and one held up an "In Rod We Trust" sign in the stands.

"I think our fans are tired of all the talk," Rodriguez said. "They want to just watch football and enjoy the experience of being in the Big House."

The storied venue was buzzing before kickoff. The Wolverines maintained the atmosphere by holding [their opponent] to a three-and-out and getting off to a strong start offensively.
They're back!!!! Oh, wait, that was the report for the 2009 opener against Western Michigan.
