2010 TSUN News (in-season)

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, Michigan fans, but aren't you nervous that this season is pretty much the exact same as last season? Remember when Tate was an absolute world beater against Notre Dame and people (Mostly Matt Milan) were willing to hand him the Heisman right there? I remember ESPN had a poll that said 90 percent of America thought Tate Forcier was better than Matt Barkley.
All I'm saying is don't blow your loud just yet. Because if there is one thing you can be sure of, it's that your team has actually started well under Dick (Wisky 08, Notre Dame 09, Uconn 10). But it only took 3 quarters for D Rob to get a little banged against a Big East team, let alone some physical teams like PSU, Iowa, OSU, etc. Depth is your biggest problem. One guy goes down and a true frosh who just got armpit hair is stepping in.

So wipe that [censored] grin off your faces and get the [censored] off your high horse

Denard Robinson, great qb or GREATEST qb?

thanks for the link. Tate's dad is just as big of a douche as Tate.

I LOVED this quote....

"He's going to play this season because there's no way Robinson can keep taking a pounding like that."

Instead of saying Tate will stop pouting like a little kid and he's going to play this season because he's going to grow the [expletive deleted] up and start putting in the work and maturity required to be a starting QB in the Big Ten this douchebag comes out and says oh, my kid will play because Robinson is going to get hurt. Unreal.

This dad is trying to live vicariously through his sons and he's ruined all 3 of them. I don't think Rodriguez is going to take to kind to Tate or his dad talking to the media after the game. I seriously think Tate might be asked not to come back.

Good riddance. Tate needs to man up and just shut up, go about his business and prove himself by working his ass off. You know, the way Robinson did.

Rodriguez will keep him on for the exact reason people are alluding to, if Robinson goes down their fucked.

This is the same reason that Rodriguez feigned having a quarterback battle, he knew Robinson would be the guy but needed Tate to hang around just in case.

I think Rod is OK with Gardner being his #2.

It was Gardner, not Tate who went in when Robinson came out with what appeared to be an injury.

I like Tate as a player, he's got a lot of talent. But the kid really needs to grow up. He let the early success get to his head. I don't think he thought there was any way that Denard would pass him up. Tate slacked off in the off-season, Denard worked hard to get better, and Denard passed him.

Tate doesn't like that, oh well, that's on him, but he needs to take responsibility for his actions.

6 wins, maybe 7. However, it does feel good to win against a team that a lot of experts and people predicted would give Michigan a loss. So for this game they can eat some crow. I just wish we had a damn defense. Offense won't be the problem. Michigan can put up 31 a game.......the problem is they could give up 35. This 3-3-5 bull[censored] isn't going to cut it. Get back to the 4-3 with the monsters up front Michigan use to have and some linebackers that could lay the wood. I really hope our next coach does focus on defense and special teams. That should be #1 goal. If you have a great defense you can get away from having an average offense. Not the other way around especially in a physical conference.

Putting Gardner in to get him some game xp with a lead and being comfortable with him being the only legitimate option at QB might be 2 different things. You don't know how Gardner is going to respond when put in a situation where they depend on him to win a ball game, Tate has at least shown SOME competence in that department.

Not to mention even if you trust Gardner its not out of the realm of possibility that he could go down in addition to Robinson, so there's that. We're talking about a guy hanging on to his job by a thread, doubt he wants to risk it.

While you do bring up good points, I really don't see why Rich would burn Devin's redshirt like that unless he truly felt comfortable with him as the #2.

I think that was a clear message to Tate where he stands on the depth chart, and THAT is why Tate is so upset. If Tate had gotten to go in there I doubt we're hearing about this "all you need to know is I'm out" stuff.

I still say the most likely cause of injury is him tripping over his own shoelaces (or having someone else step on them) and twisting his ankle

Darwin taking effect on the football field.

Good post. I see it the same way. RR needed to have put more of an emphasis on defensive recruiting the past few years & then the situation wouldn't be so dire. A few less slot receivers, and a few more LBs and DEs -- as well as a viable defensive scheme -- and things would be much better on that side of the ball.

Very interested to see how long that 3-3-5 sticks around for you guys...
