2010 TSUN News offseason (football)

Dorsey Qualification Status: With Scare Quotes

Can this get any better? Honestly, this is the biggest train wreck hire that I can remember (well maybe Lane Change will take the cake). Nevertheless, it's ugly and when it rains, it pours.

Oh and the part that's redacted about his GPA and ACT is answered in the comments; 1.9 GPA and a 12 on the ACT before his senior year. No documentation was ever produced about his 18 ACT and somehow he aced every single online class he took his senior year. Best of luck to this kid, but what in the Sam Hill was RR thinking?

In Michigan's kinesiology program...probably a 3.8 GPA.

Is that anything like Katzemoyers AIDS awareness class and swim class?:biggrin::biggrin:

seriously though, theres so much junk out there right now, who knows what happened, but I would say it's probably in the University's best interest that he didn't enroll.

Oh well, on to those that are actually on the team. GO BLUE.

There really isn't any argument Michigan fans can make when it comes to their football program pretty much having a special section of the college reserved for football program.
My dad is a former big ten professor, jumping around from most of the big ten schools. He said that at Michigan, once a player enters a certain college (which I think is the Kin Degree), they are stuck in there because the University pretty much recognizes it as the hiding spot for dumbass athletes. Not saying other schools don't have that, but other schools don't pretend to be the harvard of the west.

That was a Cooper recruit. I have blacked out the Cooper years (except for the 96 Rose)

Lets not lose sight of the fact Andy Katzenmoyer is a MENSA candidate compared to Dorsey. Remember, AK actually had to get into a school to take those easy classes to stay eligible.

scUM admissions basically just told Dorsey "we think you are you are too fucking stupid to stay eligible in a program that's essentially a 4 year gym class designed to keep dumbass jocks eligible."

To be honest, I think several Michigan fans are mad because he was one of our best recruits coming in. Probably the 2nd best behind Gardner. Our class last year had alot of "sleepers" and he was one of the few players we were excited about. If you don't make the grades, then you can't get in. It's that simple. Don't have a problem with it.

In the end I don't think this was about making the grade. I think it was about ACT shenanigans that may still come to light. Admissions has a responsibility to look at such things and for a school on probation may have saved Michigan's bacon on this one.

Bingo. Also suspicious is the core GPA that was supposedly raised from 1.9 to 2.5 during his senior year. Taking the same number of hours as he averaged his first 3 years would require a 4.3 GPA to do that in one year.
