Setting the ESPN rankings and talking heads aside, there has been a lot of interesting comments in this show from Urban Meyer and Randy Shannon.
Just a couple off the top of my head...
Urban saying there are some coaches out there, "especially the defensive minded ones like Nick Saban and Randy Shannon", that when they offer a prospect he would almost automatically jump in and go after the guy.
Urban mentioned that the best high school prospect he had ever seen was Percy Harvin. He watched three plays and said he had seen enough and moved on.
Randy said he thinks it's important to get an early start with the prospects so you have enough time to decide if the guy has the type of character you want. I think he even referenced Urban's first recruiting class where only 11 of the 18 kids were still around in the end, if I remember correctly.
It's not necessarily new thoughts but it's interesting to hear it directly from them.
