2011 tOSU Offense Discussion

3rd and 1
4th and inches (four down territory)
3rd and goal on the one

Do you feel confident we can get the first down/TD? Who do you feel most confident can get it?

I can't answer this because I don't feel real confident. Also, does JHall's size present a problem in these situations??

Its not the size of the back, its the 9 defenders within 1 yard of the LOS, and two corners on their way in, that present the problem.

Maybe this could help in short yardage situations??? Insert Hankins. Interesting.

This Miami game reminded me of the ucla game about 10 years ago. We went out there and couldn't run, pass, score, or anything. But it got straightened out eventually with more coaching and the right players.

I agree completely. This Miami game did feel like Tressel's 2nd game as a head coach at Ohio State. Sixteen months later JT was a national champion. Let's not over-react to one bad game, no matter how pathetically miserable it was.

Anyone remember the 1986 game against Washington? Wow... All the Bucks did that year was go on to win the Cotton Bowl.

Not trying to totally dismiss the mess that happened last weekend, but it certainly seems to me that Buckeye Nation needs to take a collective deep breath.

What if we lose this week. Can I start looking for a ledge? :ohwell:

Just one week away from Posey, Herron, and Adams coming back!!!! This will make our offense so dangerous IMO! I think this will allow us to play Hall more in the "Harvin" role that we have been hearing so much about...

And now that Devin Smith has emerged as a very good threat at WR, Posey coming back will make him even more dangerous with DP getting so much attention on the outside...But if too much attention is being given to the guys on the outside, don't forget about one of the best TE's in the country and another very reliable TE! Plus, Philly Brown will add a ton of speed once he gets back! Let's also keep in mind that defenses are probably going to make Braxton beat them with his arm. If not, look out! He will run for 100 per game...

The addition of Big Mike on the O-Line will give the Bucks possibly it's best offensive front in many, many years. Norwell will move down and play guard. Mewhort has proven to be an All-B1G caliber player. The Buckeye's will be playing with 5 future NFL players, which is something I have not seen yet in all my years of following Ohio State.

Here's to hoping my expectations are not too high! :oh:

Try this one time from inside the 2-yard line:

Dual-TE 7-man OL with 4-man diamond backfield (QB over center, FBs flanked both sides of the QB a few steps back, and Hankins in the TB position). On snap, TEs pull around and block in gaps between the tackles and guards, the FBs block in gaps between gaurds and center, and Hankins runs between center and right guard. Yeah, yeah...kindergarten elementary formation, but still would be cool as shit to see once.

The defense and special teams need to help out the offense in this one because we can't just out score them with this offense. Can we exploit their "weak" offensive line enough to repeat the Colorado win?
And how much has Brax progressed in one week?

Damn straight! Velveeta cheese is the baloney of the cheese world. Cut off the lips and assholes from the cheddar wheels, mix them in a big pot with pigeon guts, then let it solidify in a cube form and sell it as velveeta cheese food.

Cream corn sucks ass too. I hate it when my wife calls that play.
