2011 tOSU Recruiting Discussion

Scout $ - Bank On Buckeye Recruiting: 30 To Watch

In this weekly look at Ohio State's attempt to land a top class for 2011, we focus on 30 prospects the Buckeyes have either offered, or are in contact with. Ohio State has two commitments at this point in time, but there could be more coming in the next six weeks. Bill Greene takes a look at the 2011 class in this recruiting update to Bank on.

There is no camp this weekend unless you are talking about the Michigan Showcase at UM's Al Glick Fieldhouse. And I doubt anyone there will be committing to OSU seeing as though I don't think anyone planning on attending has an OSU offer (other than Lawrence Thomas, and he isn't committing to anyone this weekend). As for juniors committing at OSU's junior day this weekend, we will just have to wait and see.

Since recruiting class nicknames seem to be all the rage, if the Buckeyes would be so lucky to land Ron Tanner and Jeremy Cash, I have a suggestion for the nickname, at least for the secondary...

If Tank Sturdivant is truly in line for an offer and likely to end up in Columbus (Glenville) and on the DL as many think, could this explain why Harley does not have an offer? It seems they have similar frames. If this is the case I understand the coaches hesitation with offering Harley. Probably don't want to fill all your DT spots with recruits w/ smaller frames and shorter arms.

Rivals (free)

Five-Star Academy coming to Virginia
March 2, 2010
Mike Farrell

...
The Chesapeake event will also allow recruits to get answers to important questions about the recruiting process as well as update their Rivals.com profiles with accurate heights and weights, photos and video. Our featured speaker for the Chesapeake event is Oscar Smith head coach Richard Morgan who guided Elite 11 quarterback Phillip Sims and others through the process.

Prospects will learn what is required to get academically qualified for college, how to garner the most attention from recruiters, how to interact with college coaches and most importantly how to make the right decision for the right reasons.

This is NOT A CAMP and is invite only. If you are the coach or parent of a D-I recruit in the class of 2011 or 2012 who would like to inquire about attending either event, you can e-mail Rivals.com Recruiting Analyst Mike Farrell at [email protected].

Rivals $ - Whispers: Can Buckeyes bounce back in 2011?
by Mike Farrell of Rivals.com Football Recruiting

Farrell believes Ohio State could be getting commitments soon from Nick Vannett & DerJuan Gambrell... He believes the following have Ohio State as their clear leader: Shane Wynn, Ron Tanner, Cardale Jones, Michael Bennett, Aundrey Walker, & Chase Farris... Finally, he suggests the Bucks have as good a shot as anyone of landing Braxton Miller, Doran Grant, & Trey Depriest

What is everyone's thought of Donovan Clark? I thought he would be one of the ones with an early offer. I thought he would get a look at DT, but probably end up on the OL.

I still like Clark a lot...not sure what his competition is like (not familiar with Finneytown at all). But I still expect Clark to end up with an offer, but it seems the staff is content until past camp to decide...with decent odds on Bennett and McReynolds, I would say that is justified (still have Tommy Brown and Williams to assess in state).
