I think this is a bit unfair. He's continued to recruit well (with the obv stipulations that he oversigns and has a great talent base in La) and won 11 games this year. And though he's not the best gameday coach, he has brought in good assistants and let them do their jobs. I don't think he'd have the same level of success at scUM he's had at LSU, but he wouldn't be a total disaster. Which after the last three years it seems is all those fuckers want.


Actually just had a thought, Miles comes in as head coach and hires RR as his OC. And keep Robinson as DC too.

The only way this makes sense for Miles is if he's trying to make bank for 3-5 years then retire. He can look like the savior of his alma mater, win some games, then stroll off into the sunset with $10 million.

I don't know where he's going to get the athletes he has at LSU, unless he thinks he can invade Ohio. LSU is the better gig right now. Either boosters are trying to run him out of town or he is handicapped and needs put in a home. People care that he might lose to Alabama or Florida, but it doesn't define your season in the SEC. A couple losses to OSU and he transforms into LLes Miles.

I think lsu is making a token effort to keep him around, but not many will be sad to see him go. His seat was scorching hot coming into 2010 and I think he did just enough to make it impossible to fire him. Privately, I bet a lot of lsu bigwigs are rejoicing right now. Much as we should be. Harbaugh had me nervous. This has me giggling like somebody just farted loudly in a museum.

After the last three years in particular, I don't think a majority of the fan base even cares about those concerns. That bothers the hell out of me.

I distinctly remember hashing all that stuff out on a couple of boards during Martin's search. Few seemed able to grasp any of it then, and logical arguments were usually drowned out by chest-thumping cries of "MICHIGAN MAN!" mantra. The laundry list of Miles gaffes and inexplicable lapses of sanity has grown exponentially since, as has our collective desperation for some sort of resolution. As a result, most are eager and willing to turn a blind eye.

All I know is that if a Miles deal comes to fruition, I'll be particularly envious, simply because Buckeyes will enjoy more comedy at our expense than I can possibly imagine. If that comes to pass... have fun, fellas!

I was just trying to paraphrase it but fair or unfair no one can deny Miles has faded some heat from LSU fans. He seems very much like a Cooper to me in that he has to have a big talent advantage to win and the situation he would be walking into is the exact opposite of that.

Also I think people forget how long 3 years is in the CFB world. Miles struggles along at 8 wins a year or so, has a couple of clock management gaffes along with some of his 4th down all in bets not paying off and the "he only won with Sabans players" thing will be like SEC speed, it will be taken as gospel.

I just want to emphasize this.

Harbaugh would have been a fantastic hire for them (and awful for us). Brian Kelly 3 years ago would have been a fantastic hire for them.

I just want the record to show that BP isn't just making fun of whoever gets hired.....we're just lucky enough that they keep going after schmohawks.
