Final walkthrough last night...team looked good. 6 of the starting 7 can hang with anyone in the country. One freshman out there who is going to see his first major collegiate sevens and could be in for a big surprise. Luckily he won't see Cal until later on.

Taking the opposing staffs on a guided tour of the WHAC today thanks to Larry Romanoff, Director of External Affairs for the football program. I plan to let Urban know 27 carries for Braxton is unacceptable.

Yes, tell him we want 35 or so carries with six TDs every week.

That is awesome! Any video of this anywhere?

Hey BB! What would be the odds of the Football team matching this score exactly on 11-24-2012?

This past Saturday we avenged a horribly beating at the hands of Indiana earlier in the season by traveling to Bloomington with the season on the line and coming away with a gutsy 27-10 win. Not sure in 10 years I've ever been prouder after such an unselfish team win. Our defensive intensity for 80 minutes was outstanding. Our captain and starting hooker went down early in the game and a true freshman from Boardman HS in Youngstown, who only started playing rugby a few months ago, came in and played admirably. The replacement captain, our junior scrumhalf, kept everyone focused on playing sound team defense and capitalizing on turnovers. Our second rows were absolutely dominant in the lineouts. Our true freshman flyhalf converted both penalty kicks and all three conversions, two of which were from the left sideline. And our left wing continues to be one of the best finishers in the league and has been playing outstanding defense as well.

The win propels us into first place in the final standings of the east division, meaning in the spring we will host the #2 seed out of the west (Illinois), while Indiana will now have to travel to Wisconsin. I hope to have film of the Indiana win available soon but in the meantime here is the game film from the win over Michigan.
