Lots of neat info on TV rights and contract negotiation.
SEC will be immediate winner with 2.2 billion bump in revenue but the PAC 12 will eventually surpass them (they'll simply be spending too much on infrastructure to see a big jump in the early years.

The SEC is getting a $2.2 billion bump with no infrastructure expense much beyond unfurling a couple of new flags in the home office. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) Players testing positive for marijuana in the mighty Southeastern Conference do not face the one-year suspension that comes from getting busted by the NCAA.

In the most successful league of the BCS-era, players routinely get third, fourth and even fifth chances before they're booted from the team; failed drug tests administered by the NCAA result in the automatic suspension.

The finding comes from an Associated Press examination of the drug policies at 11 current members of the SEC. Vanderbilt, a private institution, declined to make its rules available.

The SEC had decided to drop one of its most archaic recruiting rules.
SEC teams will now be permitted to host recruits at neutral site games between division opponents.

This means that Georgia and Florida recruits can attend the WLOCP as recruits and guests of the program. However, the teams most rotate as only the team recognized as the "home" team can host recruits.

Ditto for Arkansas when they host teams in Little Rock.

I would imagine that both teams making the SEC Championship would be permitted to host recruits at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, but cannot confirm this is true.

Hey BigWoof...does Mark Richt get fired after the season if he doesn't run the table? At least runs it all the way to the sec champ game anyway? No sarcasm just was wondering what you think. The schedule has to be as about as easy as you can get in the SEC it would seem to me.

All signs point to "no." He got a three year extension and a raise today.
Expectations are high for a return to Atlanta though....
