Figured since the puck drops on Saturday, we needed a thread for the upcoming season.

Looks like Lubomir Visnovsky is determined not to report to the Islanders (Who would really want to) & stay in Russia playing in the KHL. The NHL hasn't filed a complaint to the KHL yet, although there is an agreement that the KHL must honor the contracts in the NHL. This one could get ugly real soon.

Neither has yours.

If it wasn't utterly blatant, I don't think anyone would really pay to much attention to it. They deserve all the the love & admiration through two games this season so far. They've been playing great & beat two playoff teams from last season in there own buildings. Great start to the season for them, but sometimes the bias is to much to ignore from a supposed "objective & impartial" nationally broadcasted network.

Blackhawks are looking tough.

With 10 of their first 12 games on the road, beating the Stanley Cup Champions and the playoff team that knocked them out last year both on the road in back to back games to start the season was huge.

The Rangers are 0-2 which is nice. Not mad at Rick Nash as I think he was a part of the problem here in C-bus (among many other things). Watched him yesterday in the Pens game and it brought back memories of him not crowding the net on the PP and just kind of playing in spurts. Not really wanting to be the man.

Great guy and did many wonderful things for the city of Columbus, but not a C and definitely not a difference maker.

CBJ game should be a sell out tonight with the Wings limping into town. Hope the boys can steal one tonight at home.

I see NBC's man-crush on the Penguins hasn't abated any.....

If they keep getting them the high ratings of Saturday, expect
that to continue. If NBC had their way, they would probably broadcast
every game from Pittsburgh, NY Rangers, Philly and the Caps. Perhaps
they have the man-crush to keep the ratings up but the problem is,
most people that watch are hockey fans anyway.

Well yeah, but people bringing the Penguins up when they're tired of hearing about them seems really fucking stupid to me.
