2013 Rose Bowl: Wisc +6.5 vs Stanford (ov/un 47.5) Jan 1st 5:00

Fuck Bucky. Always. That said, I want them to beat Stanford to rep the B1G. And I think they can win if douche doesn't decide the rose bowl is a good time to showcase that awesome passing game and ignore what got them there.

The key will be trying to establish the run game off the edges, which won't be easy against Stanford. Wisconsin did it last night. If they have to run up the gut every play, they're in for a long evening.

I seem to be having a difficult time mustering B1G love this bowl season. I lost interest in the title game so quickly Bucky hadn't even scored, yet. At this moment, I'm inclined to root for Stanford. I'll see if that changes in a month.

I hate to sound contrary, but I would rather see Bucky lose. That would only point to the fact that the wrong team played in the Rose Bowl this year. We all know who really should be playing. The heck with the pro Pac 12 pundits. The BIG has much to overcome and won't fair well in the press until the right teams square off. The BIG was weak this year, even weaker representatives are playing in this Bowl Game by default. I won't support the cheese heads at all. The ball bounced their way last night but a 5 loss team out of the BIG is ridiculous.

I lost my B1G love a LONG time ago.

I'm an OSU fan. Fuck Bucky, scUM, Pedo State and all the rest.

We dont have to point out who was what. Everyone knows who did what and why. better yet lets remind people who and what caused this to happen so that it might be prevented in the future.

It would be fun to see Bulemia lose his 3rd straight Rose Bowl to 3 different teams.

Brother In Law

Is a friggin' Badger, and he had my sis call to see if they could come out and stay with us....and get tix to the game. (i live 2.5 miles from the Rose Bowl, you can see my house sometimes during the flyover). In addition to being a Buckeye alum, i went to B-School at Stanford's GSB.

Wifey said OK to the trip and said I could probably get tix (i was out playing golf with my 14 y/o). In the past, I got us tix from a good friend on the Board of the Rose Bowl Operating Co in the non-denominational section, but this year I decided us seats right smack in the middle of the Stanford Section just because I hate Douche-Bret so much, and because of his "Madison East" comment.

I'm not going to tell them until we get there...my sis will laugh (U Cincy grad).

Wisconsin is completely one-dimensional. They can run for 3 parsecs against teams with no defense, but against teams that can slow/stop the run they're toast.

No defense --
Indiana: 62 points and 564 yards rushing (8.8 ypc)
Nebraska: 70 points (63 offensive) and 539 yards rushing (10.8 ypc)

Defense --
Michigan State (#8 rush defense): 13 points and 19 yards rushing (0.5 ypc)
Ohio State (#13 rush defense): 14 points and 206 yards rushing (3.7 ypc)

Stanford has the #3 rushing defense in the country at 88 pards per game (2.8 ypc). Wisconsin is going to get shut down in the Rose Bowl...
How did they do against Oregon State?

I just don't think that Wisconsin has a QB that can keep Stanford honest with the passing game. Stanford isn't a great offensive team but they're balanced enough and their defense is pretty good. We'll see, you never know what will happen after a 1 month layoff.

The B1G will not fare well in the press until all the teams start performing well against teams from other conferences. It doesn't matter if it is the right team or the wrong team.

I should note that Stave may be back from injury in time for the Rose Bowl. Even so, the coaches will (and should) go with Phillips. Cleared to play on January 1 isn't the same as cleared to practice on December 10. It will be months since Stave has played in a game. By the time he gets to game speed, the game could be over.
