2013 U.S. Open at Merion

Phil Mickelson is the 2-1 favorite to win the 2013 US Open.

Here's a look at your new odds for the final round of the 2013 US Open from Bovada:

Favorite

Phil Mickelson: 2-1

Other favorites

Charl Schwartzel: 9-2
Steve Stricker: 13-2
Hunter Mahan: 7-1
Justin Rose: 8-1
Luke Donald: 9-1

Fringe contenders

Jason Day: 12-1
Billy Horschel : 14-1

The "we'd be shocked if they won" group

Rickie Fowler: 33-1

No chance

Ian Poulter: 100-1
Henrik Stenson: 125-1
Nicolas Colsaerts: 125-1
Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano: 150-1
John Senden: 150-1

I love, love, love that Fowler at 33-1 bet. Last year Webb Simpson came from four strokes down (sound familiar?) and leaped seven golfers (sound familiar?) to win the 2012 Open. No reason Fowler can't do the same this year.

I also like Donald at 9-1. That group is a crapshoot and he's getting you the best odds.

Here's some other prop bets from Bovada:

Tiger Prop Bet

What score will Tiger Woods shoot in the 4th Round?

Over 73 (-110)

Under 73 (-120)

Today is probably Phil's last realistic shot at winning The Open. It's his 43rd birthday and he has the lead.

I hope he pulls it off.

Rory McIlroy bends his wedge in half during the final round of the U.S. Open

McIlroy was 1-over on the day through 10 holes when he plunked his tee shot on the 11th into a water hazard. He took a drop, then played an iron and once again ended up in the drink. That's when he found an outlet for his frustrations:

McIlroy went on to card an eight on the par-4.
